You could tell that Psicosis definitely lost a few steps in terms of ring performance by the time he got to WWE. Juvi still had it though, and could've had a fairly decent run in WWE if he wasn't such a pain in the ass to work with backstage.

Might get some heat for saying this, but here are the factors in why Rey Jr. succeeded in the WWE but Juvi and Psicosis didn't. 1) Oscar Gutierrez is an approachable person who makes a point to respect everyone in the locker room and in the ring, and openly didn't get involved in backstage politics. Backstage, Juvi was a bit of a prick and pricks tend to rub people the wrong way. Not sure about Psicosis' backstage antics but he seemed pretty passive, which can really hurt you if you don't have the kind of support that Rey had established. 2) Having gained the respect from the likes of Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Scott Steiner (yes, you read that correctly), all who went to the WWE, they were consistent in suggesting to the McMahons to get Rey over, even before they bought WCW. Having so many people requesting/suggesting one person to come over says a LOT, even though Vince thought little of his size. 3) Once there, there were several WWE wrestlers who were already lining up to wrestle with him, Kurt Angle being one of the first in line. The Rock even admitted to watching WCW, just for Rey Mysterio jr and the cruiserweight division. Not sure if Juvi and Psicosis got that kind of reception, but they really should've. 4) By the time they signed up Juvi and Psicosis, Rey was moving on towards the heavyweight scene and thus, the opportunity to utilize them into the CW division had sailed without them. I love Rey. He's my absolute favorite, and will always be. But the problem lied in the fact that, from the moment he arrived in the WWE, he was already wrestling outside of the Cruiserweight division and put into tag team events. I don't even think he did his official CW run until, what, after his first time coming back from an injury? You bring a guy in who, along with Juvi, Psicosis, Malenko, Guerrero, revolutionized an entire division... and then don't UTILIZE him in that division, then I'm going to consider that a failure on the WWE's part, not so much on Rey, Juvi, and Psicosis. THe WWE had a rockin' division, but they never truly utilized it, even when Rey was on the scene, and sadly, Juvi and Psicosis really suffered for it.

ChibiGingi I could not agree more!!! I think that it would have been best for Juvi and Psicosis to enter the WWE around the same time that Rey did.

Juvie was using too much drugs and was a punk and Psicosis just didnt had the mic skills. Mysterio is a very rare talent that was able to do both Mexican and US style wrestling. Notice how much talent WWE had brought from Mexico and have been unable to replicate Mysterio or Eddie.

I personally met Juvi a few months back after his AEW stint. Juvi is way more humble now, and he did elaborate on his past. He also did mention the bilingual factor. Rey Misterio Jr grew up in San Diego California went to Tijuana and other parts of Mexico for training so he was very marketable on the US, Mexico and Beyond. Plus the popularity of Rey Misterio Sr was a bonus when he was up and coming. The family rivials The Guerras, Fuerza and at that time Hijo De Fuerza Guerra, had big time shows and rivalries in Mexico, Japan ect. It was when Hijo wanted to do more shows outside of Mexico to promote the family name, his own father blackballed him, he all of a sudden stopped being booked, that would make a person have a chip on their shoulder with other luchadors and people a like. So when ECW wanted to bring a counter at to Rey Misterio Jr, they went for Hijo De Fuerza Guerra. But being the fall out, he started going by "Youth Warrior" aka Juventude Guerra as a play on the name Fuerza Guerra "Strength Warrior" ECW and WCW knew how to market Rey Misterio Jr and Juventude, The forbidden door was open for a long time in those programs. ECW and WCW model was all out for everybody. Now when you get to something like WWE, which quite frankly never really catered toward the lightweight, cruiserweight wrestlers. They only tried to go after big names and then try to incorporate them in their larger size. That's why even Ultimo Dragon, Justin Thunder Liger, Octagon Cito, ect never really made an impact like now Rey Mysterio. Who because of having worked in the forbidden door for a long time got more exposure because WWE only wanted to utilize him and not anybody else. Which was good for him, but bad for other luchadors that tried to come to WWE, even till this day. Rey is the only one left. So giving this, do you really kinda blame Juvi for kinda being a prick kinda, not saying it's right. But imagine kind of being told that you're not better than Rey Mysterio when in fact you're in terms of the art of being a luchador on an equal playing field with him.

LMAOOOOO what!? World champ!? When Juventud was signed they had guys like Taker, Batista, Edge, Orton, Cena, Eddie, Angle, Jericho, Booker, and on and on and on....and out of all these guys, Juvi should have been the World champ? The same Juvi who stole all his promo shtick from the Rock? The same Juvi who acted like an entitled prima donna and rubbed people the wrong way? The same Juvi who was well past his prime and not the same guy he was in 1998? The same Juvi who didn't have 1/10 of Rey's charisma? That Juvi? That's among the most ridiculous comments ever written on KZbin, no offense but wow that's bad. Seems like every mark is expecting a bunch of likes when they say " this or that guy should have been given a push or a championship " or " this or that guy is underrated " so I get what you're trying to do but man, you really went overboard there.
