Rey and Simba are such handsome lions. I'm glad they were removed from that terrible zoo and are at a sanctuary with plenty of room to live out their lives. They look happy and content together. Best wishes and continued happiness to Rey and Simba. ❤❤😊😊.

I think you should plant a few more trees for them.
@ADITV-animals8 ай бұрын
Every habitat has trees, A frames, platform shelters and night houses. However, because the land was previously denuded by farming before we purchased it for the sanctuary, it takes time for the trees we planted to grow. To help us plant more native trees for the big cats: donate.adiusa.org/trees/

Circus with lions should be banned worldwide. Barbaric practice. Glad to see them. Can the enclosure be bigger tho?
@ADITV-animals2 жыл бұрын
Yes, circuses with animals need to be banned worldwide. Rey and Simba's habitat is 2.5 acres.

when I first saw the bowed legs on the one, I cried, hoping it wasn't painful for him. but after he was in his forever home, he was still bow legged, but didn't seem to have any mobility issues.

Gorgeous creatures, has the one who was in hospital had a scan.? First time I have seen them, won't be the last now!! Hence not familiar with which one is Simba/Rey. 💙🤔🏴

He was examined by ADIWS veterinarian Peter Caldwell and it was found that he had fluid that was pressing into his lungs, for which he was treated. This was two years ago and he is back to full strength and doing well.

I’m mixed on how I feel about captive lions. If they have companions and can have a small pride in captivity with proper enclosures I’m not completely against it. There are cases where they can’t go to the wild and need a place. Another reason I’m ok with it is they live such a longer life than in the wild. Kevin the lion whisperer has 2 males I believe are 19 years old almost 20. That’s insane and unheard of in the wild. If you can give them a long healthy and happy life I’m ok with it. It’s the people that keep them alone and in cages meant for dogs
@ADITV-animals Жыл бұрын
Yes, we understand how you feel. The ADI Wildlife Sanctuary exists to provide a safe and peaceful home for rescued animals who were born in captivity and rescued from cruel industries (such as circuses). We've also rescued animals from wildlife traffickers. Ideally, they should all be wild and free and enjoying their natural world.
