The 2023 Honda BRV S CVT is the base model trim for the CVT line up of the 2023 Honda BRV. There is a manual transmission 2023 Honda BR-V S, but for this video, we check out the 2023 Honda BR-V S with a CVT transmission. In this Filipino Car review, we take the base trim 2023 Honda BRV S CVT around the Honda test track and see what sort of features this model will offer. The 2023 Honda BR-V S may be a base trim with plastic cabin materials, but it delivers in the drive and the connectivity. Unfortunately, the base trim 2022 Honda BR-V does not get Honda Sensing, which would have been a game changer. To get Honda Sensing, you have to go up to the top spec 2023 Honda BR-V RS.
The 2023 Honda BRV S goes up against other fierce competitors like the Hyundai Stargazer, the Mitsubishi Xpander, The Suzuki Ertiga, and the Toyota Veloz.

Issue with the V variants is the 2nd row seats do not tumble all the way to the front. The leather seat supplier may have underestimated the space needed to tumble the 2nd row completely (extra bolster and support on the leather seats). It may not be a big issue for for some but those with a V variant may have problems with Ingress and Egress if the 3rd row seats are frequently used. No issues with the S variants as they come with fabric seats and the 2nd row fully tumbles to the front. So if you use the 3rd row frequently, go for an S and skip the V.

I think the dashboard was derived from the Honda Amaze, and so is the new WRV. And the pop-up photo is from a first gen WRV and not the latest one. Still, good first impression. Was looking forward for this one for a long time.

u can lift and slide the floor board into the indentations to make the cargo space flat , at least for the V and Vx variants, not sure for the S.

At 1.2m there are a lot choices to choose from. Kia seltos, toyota cross, honda hrv, hyundai creta, ford territory, toyota veloz, nissan kicks, even the suzuki jimny… plus chinese cars as well. Just a lot to choose from at this price bracket. A little too saturated IMO. Boils down to casa maintenance costs and warranties.

Wish they offer the BRV with at least a 2 liter engine but I love the new body style. 1.5 liter not powerful enough going uphill with full passengers. CVT not a big fan.

I’m sure it will climb but it struggle doesn’t have enough torque and punch. CVT tranny are tested to be sluggish.

The new BR-V still looks Tall Wagon pretending to be an SUV but not. Very Disappointing With the huge increase Selling Price. Still Mitsubishi Expander is the Best choice among all MPVs.
