Not all of them come from Cebu. Sinulog being the most popular, the grandest and the biggest festival in the country, many beauty queen aspirants choose to join the Sinulog Festival Queen not only for the huge prize of a whopping P100,000 plus a round trip ticket to international destination but also for exposure and prestige. Of the 14 editions of Reyna ng Aliwan, Cebu won 8 but only 5 of the winners are Cebuana by birth. One a Masbatena, one from Southern Leyte and one from Negros Oriental who all studied in Cebu. Of the 8 wins, 6 were won in successive years from 2009 to 2014.

Yes, Cebu makes a 1-2 punch during this edition. Two Cebuanas (Alforque, Miss Sinulog Festival Queen 2017 and Apriel Smith, Miss Sinulog Festival Queen 2012) reigned in the 2017 edition of Reyna ng Aliwan. This year is another successive year for a victory by a Cebu representative.

Sana nga bumalik para malaman nyang uubra sa Miss Universe Philippines ang utak nya. Hanggang Bb. Cebu lang ang kaya nyan kasi yung communication skill, nakakakilabot. Di matatawag na skill kung tutuusin kasi wala talaga.

@@vickai_the_loner , Di ako fan ni Ahtisa. Oo, di man sya kasing galing magsalita gaya nina Catriona Gray o Nicole Cordoves but she can carry a decent conversation. Plus maganda, matangkad at magaling magperform onstage. Di yung puro pasarela at emote lang ang alam pero pag ininterview, NGANGA!
