Ia mengikuti ajang masterchef Australia season 12 edisi spesial yang bertajuk "back to win" yang berisi peserta-peserta top 12 dari season-season sebelumnya yang sudah sangat berpengalaman dan banyak yang telah membuka restorannya sendiri. Reynold sendiri sebelumnya merupakan peringkat 4 di season ke-7 yang setelahnya membuka dessert bar KOI di Sydney, Australia.

the fact that his dish competes with the rest while still missing the key ingredient just says it all, he is a master chef.

i don't think the judges ever judge reynold's savoury dishes fairly with the same standard as the other contestants. in this ep they kept complaining abt the quail when the dates were the main component. on other challenges, they compared his savoury to his dessert which is ridiculous bc reynold's dessert as we know is unbeatable and they expect him to use the same amnt of technique in his savoury dish which is just dumb bc savoury mainly focuses on the flavor rather than thechnique of it all. i noticed they did this to reynold only, judging his savoury and comparing it to his dessert instead of the others' dishes and get disappointed bc he did not live up to his standard when his dish is as gd or even better than the others

If I was a judge, I would feel the same way. If a contestant starts cooking a Quail and not serve it. I would be disappointed too. Overall, I know Reynold is amazing what he cook and serve. Just my two sense.

The judges always like to say "we can only judge you by what you present..." but they always complain so much when something is left out from a dish. How about you pretend like you never knew it was suppose to be there and just judge the dish like you act like you're suppose to?

Who won? This was kind of like reading a mystery thriller ... and the last page is missing!! But, I have to admit, while I have no sweet tooth at all (apart from peanut butter), Reynold's desserts are some kind of awesome!! I would not say "no" to being offered one of those desserts!!

quail was not the ingredient .... and you brought the savoury note from the chicken stock in my opinion the quail should not have been any kind of issue cept as a footnote explaining if you are not happy with something don't put it on the plate

Looks like a tough challenge. The judges should not be criticizing a dish for an ingredient that is not even in the dish. Very unprofessional of the judges. Had Reynold used the quail the judges would have criticized him for it being overcooked. So not putting it in his dish was the right move, but he shouldn’t be penalized for it not being in the dish.

I like that the Australian judges are so friendly and nice, but why are they going so hard about the quail?? The key ingredient was the dates. You can be disappointed for not getting what you were expecting, but get over it and judge what's on the plate! It's not like the chefs are making them pay for what they've "ordered". It's a contest. He would be neck deep if he decided to put the overcooked quail anyway.

They are going on and on about the quail as if that was one of the 2 ingredients chosen .... How about you pretend the quail was never even in the equation and just judge what was presented to you instead of what wasn't, especially if there wasn't any obligation to present the quail to begin with ... If I go to a restaurant and get served mushrooms, I'm not going to go to the chef and ask him why he didn't put a steak with the mushrooms, like Jesus. Stop nitpicking for the sake of it, have some legitimate criticisms instead.
