I love both these players, obviously I’m Raynor bias. I think this patch is the first time I’ve seen MaxPax having a little trouble adjusting even if you could argue he got a buff! I’m gonna keep commenting to show support. Like I said again, thanks for making great stacraft and supporting awesome talent. And if any of the players are reading this, you all make this game so much fun to watch the two of you. It’s amazing to see your style compared to what it was in WoL liberty. I just can just imagine that if Idra had actually tried to play now the game might feel more natural since he a Zerg who would like to expand. But then who am I kidding, he’d be complaining that late games Zergs would die to Protoss every time lol.

I feel like Clem is doing an excellent job of distilling and making clear the little things MaxPax does well in PvT. That alone should help shift the meta, seems like Toss being a tad more aggressive and being out on the map to slow down pushes/force seiges is critical now.

Tough to see how Protoss deals with the game 3 push. That was about the best and most patient defence one could hope for, not nearly enough. Perhaps different tech choices, not sure.

I think Tempests were the wrong choice here. Carriers, Colossi or Disruptors would have been better earlier. Tempests are just really bad vs Hydra/Lurker without some DPS support, and by the time Maxpax was able to add Carriers, it was too late. Reynor had already bullied him into the corner, added Corrupters and taken the whole map.

Game 3 was quite BM from MaxPax, not leaving an obvious lost game.

I dont think so. Yes, the game was lost for some time, but it was good practice for him, as long as he still had an army, that was cabable to fight.

MaxPax has to realize that Tempests are still garbage. Instanely low dps for the value. Extremely vulnerable against hydras, corruptors, vipers and basically everything. Absolutely not viable against lurkers. Even voidrays seem more usefull in the case.

how are they vulnerable against any of those units if they can stand a mile away and shoot from complete safety over archons and high templars zoning everything from coming close ?

@@mathieuchoquette5606 It was right before your eyes in the video. In the fight they either do nothing retreating, or just die attacking. They require shoot and run micro, but their damage output is so low its worthless investing time into it. Without proper micro Protoss army is utter garbage against Zerg. MaxPax just can't find time for the Tempests. Poking Zerg from distance apparently gives nothing, the damage is a joke. Broodlords are MUCH better then tempests, 25% more plain raw DPS + damage from broodlings. Still Zergs consider it absolute garbage and never using it.

@@sheeftz im pretty sure they dont die attacking, thats the whole point of having like 13 range, they outrange everything zerg has. yes their dps is low but it doesnt matter when they get to shoot for free and force the zerg to run into your army.

@@mathieuchoquette5606 - no, they have the same range 10. - air attack is irrelevant - the speed is irrelevent when you don't have time for micro. And the speed is not that of a big difference. It's 2.62 vs 3.15. It's just 17% difference. What's relevant is damage, and wall of broodlings which are also damage, and Broodlords has less overkill due to broodlings, which are still usefull even if you overkill a single marine with a bunch of broodlords, which is a huge deal. Yet, somehow they are unplayable according to Zergs.
