Great Video Reza, lots of useful info, for beginners to pro;s, some I didn't know in there and I have been using Flow since its early days ;). My one tip I would add is in renaming actions. Rename them but leave the action type at the beginning. e.g. Get items - Project items That way you know exactly what type of action it is and what it does / its purpose. I always used to find that having a number of same coloured steps confused me about what type of action it was.

Thank you for providing such a comprehensively useful resource! I have a LOT of folks asking me "how do I get started with Power Automate?" Now I know where to send them! On a slightly different topic, I've been fiddling around with the "Power Automate Management" connector's actions and built a few flows to help inventory and manage my flows (I'm planning to record a video showing how I did that, just waiting to work out some of the bugs). I now have a Microsoft List (called "My Flows") that serves as my master inventory. One bit of information that I haven't found a good way to retrieve is the timestamp of the last run for a given flow. I know I can get that when a flow runs, but that would mean adding a step to all of my flows, some of which run as other users, who don't have permission to my "My Flows" list). I was hoping it would be an output value/property of the "Get flow" action, but it's not. Any ideas?

Thank you for the amazing feedback. I have not done much work with the management connectors. Excellent video Reza. What do you think about this: In all my flows, the last action I add is "send me an email notification", checking all choices in "Configure run after" but "is successful". In that way, whenever there is any error in a flow, I receive an immediate notification, as opposed to being notified by Power Automate once every week which is the default notification period.
@RezaDorrani3 жыл бұрын
Best idea would be to group actions using scope and do error handling. Ideally handle errors for actions which can potentially result in an error. Check flowaltdelete.ca/category/power-automate/flow/error-handling/

Hi Reza, Huge Fan. I'm currently having an issue with my Flow to upload Document to a SharePoint library. The flow works, but my app works by users assigned a document to update and upload back to the SharePoint library. My flow keeps overwriting my doc as it uses the same file name. That's very informative. Thank you. I am a bit stuck though on the concurreny bit. Someone created a flow that triggers everytime an item is added to a SharePoint list. The triggered flow then creates a new related item into another SharePoint list, and updates the 'Processed' field to 'Yes' in the source list. The problem is each time, there can be hundreds of items created into the source list at the same time, causing multiple instances of the flow to trigger, and eventually a lot of them ended up in Running state for many many many hours. Enabling concurrency and then reduce down the value (like to 5 or 10) helps, but does not gurrently to get rid of the issue totally. There are always some flow instances that get stuck in Running. Does that mean I need to set the concurrency value to 1? Would that gurentee no flow instances will get stucking in Running then?

However, all other users ran the app. They got no error or message. The app just kept running, no pdf file generated and no email received. I checked the flow history. There's no record of the users ran the flow. Is there anywhere I can check what happened to the flow when users ran the app? Greatly appreciated your help/suggestions! Thanks.

Not sure about your issue. If flow is not being called then it probably is some issue in the app action calling the flow. You may want to try and exit the app from a user who is facing the issue. And on click of button to call flow, you may see the error there in edit mode experience.

Hello Reza, a suggestion, there is no easy tutorial for power automate on how to send rich text format emails (or with html), that can be an awesome video

I have that in my backlog and will give it a higher priority. Thanks for the suggestion.

@@RezaDorrani I found the easiest way is to send a test mail formatted the way you want. Open the mail using the View Source option, paste into the mail function, then replace text using the data elements

Flow has limits (API calls) - aka.ms/servicelimits I would not recommend flow in scenarios where you want to maintain 2 large lists in sync at all times. Use logic apps or some other mechanism.

@@RezaDorrani Thanks for your response, if the number of users at the Tenant level more than 1000 + is still Power Automate will have an issue. I think Limit share at Tenant level Right. Please suggest.

@@sohansinghchauhan API call limit is per user (flow running account) for a 24 hr period.
