I fixed the pants with nail polish, love the Rockers

Do you mean black nail polish to paint them?
@neonrocker85 Жыл бұрын
@@RFDeStefano Depends on the amount of damage, I use clear nail polish to preserve the pleather fabric if it’s in ok condition and color polish to match the fabric if there are pieces missing ( as filler)

My favorite Rocker is Dee-Dee. She’s so pretty, I love her outfit and her makeup. Dana is my second favorite. The second line was never a favorite of mine. I liked the bold, flashy colors and makeup of the first line better. I also had a Barbie and the Rockers lunchbox as a child.

Would have loved to have the lunchbox!!

I don't own either set, but they'd make such a great display with their band set. Build a little stage and install some mini LED lights. If space was never in short supply, I'd have so many awesome displays! Glad things are moving well for you on eBay. You never know what to expect when selling, things will go from slow to lighting fast from one month to the next. I'm thinking income tax refunds are definitely helping stimulate things - very smart time to list! Hope everyone your way is having a beautiful Sunday! 🌞 - Brandon (from VA)

Derek is my favorite hands down. I always thought that Derek was way cuter than Ken when I was a kid. I never even had him when I was little but one of my friends did. I finally got him a couple years ago :)

Oh you're featuring my dolls that I love from that fun decade, the 80's! These are just great dolls that make me happy to think of them. Because it brings back that New Wave pop music feel that I remember from that time. I loved dancing back then in my 80's fashions to that music of the time. It was a great time to be young. And these dolls, and the Jem and the Hologram dolls by Hasbro from back then. Were what actually drove Mattel to create Barbie and the Rockers to compete. They all make me so nostalgic. They're like a little doll time travel set for me. Mine aren't as complete as yours, though I do have them all. I've found mine out of the box and played with in thrift stores and flea markets over the years. Thanks for sharing your Rockers dolls so we can see them in good shape.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! Your timing for this video is impeccable friend!!! Okay, I’m so excited but I’m trying to calm down lol. I’ve wished for many years to recreate a collection of Barbies that I had as a kid. I’m 53 , so I’ve basically played with the late 70s Barbies and early 80s Barbies. I never really had the space currently for shelves or bookcases to display the Barbies the way I wanted to. I definitely knew that if I did purchase some of the old Barbies that I did have they would definitely have to be out of the box. I wanted them to be tangible and free from a cardboard box lol. So in 2017 I won supersize Barbie on eBay. That was a cherished doll from my childhood and I was sooooo excited that she was on her way to me again. I put her in my closet hopefully free from a lot of dust. Well, now in 2023 I rearranged some furniture in my bedroom and pitched some other furniture and I got myself a little tiny bookcase. I knew what I was gonna do next!!!!!!! First two Barbies I got were the reproduction superstar Barbie and Christie. I immediately removed them from their boxes and on the stands they went. I was soooooooooooo pleased with them. Next I won 1979 Hispanic Barbie and 1979 black Barbie. ( Thank you for the Dawn dish-wash hair washing tip! It worked wonders!!) So now I have my eye on Barbie and the rockers to fill some of my shelf space. I did not own them as a kid because I was in 10th grade when they came out. However, they remind me of my teen aged self growing up in the mid 80’s!! I especially am aiming for “Barbie” and “Dee Dee”. Although now after seeing “Diva” I might have to have her as well! I love everything about this group! I adore the “over the top” makeup and clothes cause that was me lol! The only thing is that they are super expensive on eBay. I’m on the hunt Rann!!!!! Thank you for posting this video today! I’m super stoked!!!!!

Dana came with neon orange closed-toe pumps. DeeDee also came with orange pumps, while Diva came with open-toe shoes, also in neon orange. I like the Rockers earrings, but I like to add rhinestones to the ones that are made from empty SuperStar jewelry dies. They always looked odd to me without rhinestones. Of the Rockers dolls, I like the first-year versions of DeeDee, Diva and Dana best, but I like Barbie and Derek (and obviously Ken) from the second set the best. I always loved the Rockers, I have several sets of them from both years, all the fashions, the Hot Rockin' Stage, the Hot Rockin' Van, the Dance Café, the Recording Studio, the instruments pack, and I've even made custom versions of each of the characters on Made To Move bodies, using extra dolls I had lying around in bins that needed to be restored anyway. I was really happy with how they turned out. FYI: You have DeeDee's leggings on backward, the seams are supposed to be in the back. All of the pants using this pattern are meant to have the seams in the back. My favorite doll of the first set is probably Diva, but that is probably influenced by the fact that Diva was the first Rockers character I saw at retail in the 80s. She was the only Rockers doll of any kind that was at the toy department of the Mervyn's store I went to, prior to that I had only seen the first commercial that didn't even feature the Dana character. Naturally I bought that one doll, and luckily she was a nice example that didn't have any paint issues or anything, normally at that time I would like to look through all the dolls at the store and pick the best one based on face screening application, hair rooting, etc. I was also really enamored of Diva because this was an all-new face sculpt, and I liked how serene her expression is. After I got Diva, I got Derek and Barbie in quick succession, then I managed to find DeeDee, and after what seemed like a ridiculously long time, I finally found Dana. These dolls sold like gangbusters back in the day, at least the first year dolls did. The second year dolls seemed to linger in the clearance bins for a while, which is when I got mine back then, as well as the Concert Tour fashions that I bought. I always thought the second-year Rocker Barbie was super cool, but I hated her gimmicky Real Dancin' Action feature. I always thought it was awkward and added nothing to the doll. I of course had to make a Made-To-Move version of her, so I have two Rocker Barbie dolls on Made-To-Move bodies now.
