According to the CDC, all COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the United States are effective at preventing COVID-19. Getting sick with COVID-19 can offer some protection from future illness, sometimes called “natural immunity,” but the level of protection people get from having COVID-19 may vary depending on how mild or severe their illness was, the time since their infection, and their age.
Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is also a safer way to build protection than getting sick with COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccination helps protect you by creating an antibody response without you having to experience sickness. Getting vaccinated yourself may also protect people around you, particularly people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Getting sick with COVID-19 can cause severe illness or death, and we can’t reliably predict who will have mild or severe illness. If you get sick, you can spread COVID-19 to others. You can also continue to have long-term health issues after COVID-19 infection.
While COVID-19 vaccines are effective, studies have shown some declines in vaccine effectiveness against infections over time, especially when the Delta variant was circulating widely.
The mRNA vaccines do not contain any live virus. Instead, they work by teaching our cells to make a harmless piece of a “spike protein,” which is found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. After making the protein piece, cells display it on their surface. Our immune system then recognizes that it does not belong there and responds to get rid of it. When an immune response begins, antibodies are produced, creating the same response that happens in a natural infection.
In contrast to mRNA vaccines, many other vaccines use a piece of, or weakened version of, the germ that the vaccine protects against. This is how the measles and flu vaccines work. When a weakened or small part of the virus is introduced to your body, you make antibodies to help protect against future infection.
Everyone ages 18 and older should get a booster shot either 6 months after their initial Pfizer or Moderna series, or 2 months after their initial Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. People ages 16-17 may get a booster dose of Pfizer at least 6 months after their initial series of vaccines.
The CDC says A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving all recommended doses in the primary series of their COVID-19 vaccination. A person is up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination if they have received all recommended doses in the primary series and one booster when eligible.
According to the CDC, Atrazine is a widely used chlorotriazine herbicide active against broadleaf and grassy weeds. Related chlorotriazine herbicides include simazine, propazine, and cyanazine, all which act by inhibiting plant photosynthesis. Atrazine is applied pre- and post-emergence to agricultural land for crops such as corn and sorghum. It is also used as a non-selective herbicide. Atrazine was first registered as an herbicide in 1958. More than 70 million pounds have been applied annually in recent years, with about 75% of corn cropland receiving treatment.Atrazine has limited water solubility and is not tightly bound to soil, but is leachable in to ground and surface waters. In regions where atrazine is used, it is one of the more commonly detected pesticides in surface and ground waters (USGS, 2007). In soils, atrazine is slowly degraded to dealkylated products, which have half-lives of several months. Bacteria and plants can metabolize atrazine to hydroxyatrazine. Atrazine does not bioaccumulate. It has little toxicity in birds and moderate toxicity in some fish and aquatic invertebrates. Atrazine may alter the sexual development of frogs at environmental levels (Gammon et al., 2005; Hayes et al., 2002; U.S.EPA, 2003a).

@@fmayer1507So agree. The most powerful branch should be Congress as it is the branch we, the people can hold most directly responsible. So many of the most divisive cultural issues have been punted by them to the executive and judicial branches. Congress has had no incentive to solve problems in order to have a campaign fund-raising issue for the next election. RFK, Jr. may be just the one to restore Congress to its rightful place of being the body that debates issues and passes laws that are responsive to the electorate. He appears to be honest and not ego-driven.

Unfortunately, our government is doing everything in its power to silence this man from a broader audience so they can shoe horn their establishment puppet as the leading candidate for this party. If RFK loses the primary, which is possible because of the corruption in our government preventing citizens from easily being informed on their vote, then he has to go third party and hopefully atleast split the Democratic party and give Trump or another republican candidate the chance to do something. I find it fairly hard to imagine a reasonable person listening to a longform RFK interview and not seeing his qualities as a leader over the other candidates, its just a matter of whether his message reaches enough people.

Great interview! It’s undeniable, RFK, Jr. is intelligent, knowledgeable on a myriad of subjects pertaining to the fundamental rights and wellbeing of the american people, and courageous enough to fight for justice. No frills, no empty platitudes like the other candidates on offer, just pure pragmatism and honesty-we’ve forgotten this collectively as propagandized and disenchanted Americans, but this is what a real leader looks like. When you study factual geopolitical history as an american with a conscience, it’s nearly impossible not to feel a sense of immense shame at what our government has done to inflict its imperialism across the globe, deliberately destroying and destabilizing for selfish desires of capital paid for by bullets, bombs and blood. It’s been a very long time since I’ve been proud to be an american. I think under an RFK, Jr. presidency, that view would change. No other candidate has given me that feeling. Bernie came close in his championing of the working class, but his capitulation to the DNC showed him to be too spineless to lead. America needs a strong and fearless president who will represent US. I saw RFK Jr speak on the Lincoln Memorial steps at the Stop the Mandates rally in January 2022, when it took a lot of guts to do so. I also saw him speak at the Ron Paul Institute in the fall of 2021 in front of a crowd of Libertarians who gave him a standing ovation. Both of these speeches were given during the height of the Covid insanity, when in Washington DC it was impossible to stay in a hotel or even use a public restroom without a vaccine certificate. I support him for this, and for his stance generally on health freedom, and for his position on Ukraine. I can find plenty of other issues where I have to hold my nose, but I am a Kennedy Democrat of the Old School and I will vote for him and contribute to his campaign.

I urge you to consider the extraordinary leadership of one man who has the potential to guide us towards a renaissance of compassion, justice, and progress. I speak of none other than Robert F. Kennedy-the visionary leader who deserves our unwavering support to become the President of the United States. Robert F. Kennedy possesses a rare combination of profound intellect, genuine empathy, and an unyielding commitment to public service. He has long been a staunch advocate for the marginalized, a fierce defender of civil rights, and a tireless warrior against poverty. His unwavering dedication to fighting for the voiceless among us has earned him the status of a true American hero. But it is not just his passion that distinguishes him. It is his ability to inspire unity and heal the wounds of a divided nation. Kennedy’s empathetic spirit fosters hope in the hearts of those who have felt unheard and disenfranchised. He believes in a nation that is built on the principles of equality, justice, and dignity for all, regardless of race, gender, or socio-economic background. With him at the helm, we can reclaim the unity that defines the very essence of our nation.
