Russians seem to be losing a lot of troops based on the combination of the intensity of their offensive and how poorly it seems to be planned. That said, I think 1.5K dead a day is an exaggeration. It's way out of step with casualty rates so far in the war.

the US govt has approved the use of ATACMS and HIMARS rockets to be allowed in Russian territory. this means Storm shadow and ATACMS is headed for a lot of fighter jet bases around Kursk and other places. following the largest missile/drone barrage by russia in the history of the invasion last night.

When the war started I had sympathy for the average Russian being drafted to go fight in a war they didn't believe in. However as the war as gone on, I don't see any much - if any -Russian public sentiment against the war. Even as hundreds of thousands of people die for Putin's ego. Gradually my sympathy for Russians dying is drying up. Putin will never care how many Russians die. And the public either support him or are apathetic towards their own people dying. They certainly seem devoid of compassion towards the Ukrainians. It is as clear as ever that the Russian people and leadership will not learn unless the entire war turns out to be for zero Russian gain. What is frustrating is the almost half hearted support from Europe and USA. Europe needs to move to a wartime production of weapons for a European war. But they don't. Britain and USA, in particular guaranteed Ukraine's borders. They need to live up to their commitments.
