I have a cleaning chain I found here in germany in the house I moved into, thanks for this info, I will go look at it now and determine if it was aluminum or zinc coated. Found a few things here intresting rcently I will be posting on my channel, and I am very interested in learning details on their history.

Ballistol. It was invented for the german army and was used in it from 1905 till 1945.
