I have to go with the GBA SP - got it on release and played the heck out of it. Funny story - the one my husband had actually saved him from a fairly serious leg injury. He fell down the side of a hill and slammed into a tree and the GBA SP in his pocket took most of the damage - it was destroyed dented so far in the screen smashed but my husband only ended up with a square shaped bruise. Without the GB his leg would have been punctured pretty badly. He had only had it for a day and when we showed it to the guy we bought it from at Gamestop he said - "Just pay for the insurance now and I will give you a new one..".

@@GiulioMa From what I've researched, most suggest "mame4all" with 0.37b5 rom set but my experience has been hit and miss with some games working and others not. I usually play arcade on other handheld devices. Hope this helps!

They seem to bring out a new incarnation of these things every other month. I’ll hold fire on purchasing one until the middle of 2021. It will be better but still won’t be perfect. Nothing this inexpensive ever is.

There are too many of these on the market. I just want a professional all encompassing version of this. After seeing a review of the At Games Arcade Legends joystick system model; I really want At Games to make a handheld version of their arcade system with the same functions (including HDMI out, Bluetooth and BYOG functions).

Buy a $30 pre-paid android phone and a bluetooth controller. Those can play just about everything and are even cheaper than any other handheld.

I just ordered one of these, the purple one. Why? Because the GBA is one of, if not my all time favorite handheld. Very nostalgic for it. Can't wait to play some pixel perfect GBA games!

I just picked up a powkiddy A19 to run in my arcade one up via micro HDMI to HDMI how would you rate these guys against that one!?

this has a better build quality, but if you have the android version of the A19 then its the more capable device.

Nice reviews. "A little bit different screen resolution" is a bit of an understatement. It has 50% fewer pixels than last year's model and is not the aspect ratio of about 90% of the systems it supports - meaning stretching or black bars so effectively even lower resolution than that. A very strange design choice.

PSX games work so well on this device, i am playing Darkstone all the time on my RG351P, best diablo-like game for PSX in my opinion.

I own 3dsxl and 2dsxl my 2dsxl is for my hacking console the other not hacked console. Rg351p better then rg350p is because rg351p has a better processor loose ability to hdmi to me not big deal.

I just bought my self a rg351p. I had powkiddy x15 I was dispointed on the handheld lot of android games like kemco didnt even run. I own odroid go advance love it I like the linux system with over 35+ emulators rg351p so new barely any new firmware out for it yet give it time more firmware will be out for it. Rg351p can play ton of emulators for it I love the fact it has stereo speaker and dual anolag sticks. My favorite is odroid go advance until speaker almost died on me im waiting for replacent for it.

@cooltoy It's a wonder you didn't mention that as it's using EmuELEC you can change the emulators it uses though the game settings menu.

What software are you running on your 351?

I end up with a bunch of devices for different systems because no one device is perfect for everything. The 351p is cool, but the low res screen makes it a worse experience than the 350m in most cases. But GBA is way better on it because of the aspect ratio. The RP2 is better for n64, again because of the resolution, but android kinda sucks and is finnicky so I avoid it where possible. Then if you really want a good experience in psp or DC, you need something more powerful like a GPD win 2 or moqi i7s, both of which are too big and with annoying OS's preventing them from being a first choice.

Looks like 2021 is going to be the year of the cheap Chinese handheld. When we can get 60fps Dreamcast and maybe some gamecube I'll be down to buy. The 351p's screen is perfect for GBA, but I wish they stuck with the 2x MicroSD cards, a better compromise to me would be to have the OS on an SD that has to be accessed by removing the back. They were on the money with the aluminum design of the 350m, I hope they continue with that the trend of releasing an aluminum version of their handhelds down the line.

So, all in all, you'd say the RG351P is better than 350M? I'm hoping so. I gave my 350M away after ordering the 351, and haven't received it yet. I couldn't find a good solution for Genesis games, either saves didn't work on one emulator, or couldn't get the street to stretch full screen on the other.

Mylo Mane technically yes the 351 is better than the 350 in terms of the amount of games it can play. However until developers have more time with this system, the added systems available aren’t always decent to play

No no no you shouldn't of gave away your 350M you should have kept both. I say this because yes the RG351 is superior in performance, but the RG350M had the better Hardware. The hardware of both devices is great but the RG351 unfortunately has a lower quality D-Pad and face buttons and a 3:2 screen!

@@Pridetoons Eh, well I gave it to my brother and he really enjoys it, so that's fine. I'm not so nitpicky about the screen aspect ration, I'm used to 16:9 stretching anyway. Also, as long as the dpad is better that retroid pocket 2 lol. That thing is stiff and tiresome to use.

Two serious flaws of RG351 so far 1) Openbor games cannot be played normally. Openbor games can be run normally with other rk2020, rgb10, zpg pro, only the rg351 button, even if you manually remap the key,But after finish exiting the menu, the button still becomes unresponsive, feedback to the development team until now Keep ignoring 2) Vibration only supports a very small number of games, until the vibration mode is turned on in a ps1 game that supports vibration, it will still not vibrate (only Tekken 3 will vibrate, and other games that support vibration will not work), and the same feedback to the development team I've ignored it until now

Neither are serious flaws: 1. There are no OpenBor games that come close to official releases 2. Vibration has never been important in portable gaming

neither one of these provide 100% perfect N64 emulation. Some games work well, others do not. It's a case by case basis for games.

RG350M has a better display (640x480) and of course the metal enclosure. RG351 has a better processor but you can't really full enjoy this extra power because N64 and Dreamcast emulation runs poorly on this machine. Keep your RG350M and wait for a RG352 for a real upgrade

The imagery used on the 351P is so cringey... new age Link on the N64 pane. JoJo on the Arcade pane...??? Zoomers are lost (assuming someone super young made the OS graphics)
