I made so many of those “stakerlizer” in the 90s I never knew someone had actually named them Great video!!

I’m just bringing this up b/c I’m guilty as well, but the end swivel that goes through stakelizer is J hooked on the wrong end. I only bring that up because I lost a beaver that way and then found it a month later... great video love the channel🇺🇸

Love your hat pin, I have the same one. I also really like the flat safeties, they stay put alot better. I use 1/8" cable on my conibears, and I haven't had any issues, I also use 1/8" cable for drowning sets, and aside from one or two large beaver pulling the weight or stake out of deep water

The 280 RBG’s are a great trap. I’m convinced otter enter them more readily than square jaws at times. Quality trap made in Indiana.

You mention the spring eye gaps. Maybe that American, amongst all the rest of the American quality, can weld all those locations solid so there are no gaps anywhere on the trap ... (just a suggestion).

If you weild, it takes the spring out of the spring, messed up a few. Going to try job weild.

I wish you had added in some later footage of beaver getting caught in the RBG traps. I would like to see some results of the 440 in action. It looks like the kiss of death for a beaver, a great looking trap.
@thatrandomchannel85895 жыл бұрын
That’s trapping. That’s for sure. I totally understand.

I would prefer to put the hook through the over lap part of the swivel at the stake. There is just something bothersome about not having something through the over lapping part of the swivel. It is like having a weak link in the system. I doubt anything could spread it apart, but why take the chance on an expensive trap?

I own several of these traps an they are excellent traps - animals are use to a round hole so why would ya jam a square trap in a round hole - just made since when they were designed
@Bearsfan8714 жыл бұрын
How would you stabilize them in deeper runs would be my question? I don't know much about beaver trapping, but I'd like to get some my only concern is if there is a limited ability to stabilize them. Thanks!

Hey, I know you brought up earlier that you were in to crypto currencies and you should get registered with BAT. It allows your audience to donate monthly or one off if they want. People using the Brave browser can just donate to you with their earnings for the month. Check in to it, I'd love to throw you a bit. You just need to be verified with Brave.

How would you compare the rbg to a body grip with an expanda pan?
@Meattrapper5 жыл бұрын
That's a tough call. Real tough. I'd love to see an expanda pan for the RBGs.

you hated those safeties on the mb 1216, are the guys with the rbg traps paying you or what? what has changed?

These safeties aren't soft and don't bend like the older ones on the 1216's did. Any more questions jackass?

Depends on how you set it. Only use a trap like that on land where legal in a remote place, or in a real survival situation. It is lethal.

Hey meat trapper I only kill what I eat so how do I find beaver in Ohio I need some help I am only 13
@ChrisGilliamOffGrid5 жыл бұрын
I just got back from Ohio, saw a lot of beaver sign up there, but they are gonna be under ice most of your season, from what I was told. Gonna be a bit tougher than what us Southern folks deal with.😉

One of the best things you can do is join your State Trappers association and get your parents to take you to their meetings. You will find plenty of guys there who will help you out, and you might find somebody near you who will let you ride along with them and watch how they do it.
