Neo pixel is for eye candy, the rgb is for dueling, the led's would get destroyed dueling. Either way I have both types and I love them both I use them for training and working out and technical skills. Im a 3rd degree in wu-shu. Nice video

That’s what I usually recommend also BUT I have friends in the community that use heavy grade neopixel blades for duelling and have never had an issue yet

That's why just duel with the one that's easily replaceable, but I'm glad everything is good so far with the neo pix sabers, there a work of art and costly , so I'm glad to hear there ok.👊👍 Great content by the way.👍

I have the first saber you showed in proffie neopixel, got it from Artsabers who pretty much claim they make the sabers because they put their logo on them, even though they're LGT resellers. They also dropshipped it from China which I'm not a fan of but I got it in the end I suppose. I'm probably gonna pick a proffie graflex from padawan outpost soon, but it ain't cheap 😂

Yeah Artsabers are another company I just can’t get behind unfortunately just because of their methods, it maybe wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t have their logo laser engraved on their hilts, just ruins the sabers for me imo. As for the proffie Grafflex, that’s EXACTLY what I want next too, you should totally get one when you can, you’d love it! However I do have 3 mystery boxes coming from Padawan Outpost next week at some point so who knows what could be in there & with Sabertrio opening again on 26th March I’m so tempted to see what all the hype is surrounding them also....decisions decisions!

@@AbsoluteSabers Yeah, I won't be buying from Artsabers again. I only bought from them because I missed the Padawan outpost restock and was too impatient to wait for another restock lol. Sounds like you're about to spend a lot of money when Sabertrio opens back up 🤣 I did consider Sabertrio but I would rather have a character hilt as my next saber. I did just buy a mystery box from PO for my little brother, he's pretty excited 👍

At least you got the saber though, just don’t think it’s fair giving people the impression that they build and dispatch them when they don’t, if that’s the way they want to operate the at least be transparent about it and let people make the decision whether or not they’re happy with that type of service. I have heard their customer service is good though which is a plus but still not keen on that type of business model. Yeah like I’ve had money set aside for Sabertrio for a little while since they’ve been closed, the problem is, and you’ll be the same, I want it all 😂😂 ah dude I hope you’re bro gets a kickass saber! 🤘

@@AbsoluteSabers I'll be honest their customer service is some of the worst i've seen. I sent an email to them asking about a saber and it took them 4 days to reply, I've also sent them 2 other emails around 2 weeks ago and they just haven't bothered replying, I suppose the important thing is that the saber is great and i've had a blast reconfiging the proffie board to my liking, It's honestly crazy what you can do with ProffieOS if you learn how to use it etc. And yes I want everything too 😂😂

I'm planning on getting a lightsaber, and while I do like the beautiful blades of Neopixels, they are both really expensive and can't duel (unless some company makes neopixels that can duel, IDK much). This video shows me that I'd probably be better off with an RGB saber. Thanks!

Question, can you put custom soundfonts on the eco smoothswing sabers? I know you can with Xeno but it's unclear to me whether you can with RGB baselit sabers

Unfortunately not at this time no. The new baselit v3 sabers from LGT are great but still lack this feature, probably won’t ever come to that platform tbh. IF that is a feature you’re looking for then I would recommend spending a little more and getting a xenopixel saber buddy if that is the type of budget you’re working with 🤘

I’m looking to buy one for my son (turning 11) and after this I’m thinking I should go with the RGB since he’s more of the “I’m a SW fan and want a saber bc it’s cool”. like you I am a grade A nerd. But only recently dipped my toes into the more higher end lightsabers. Previously I had bought a few Black series sabers (before they got ridiculously expensive). I stated buying second hand and used sabers. My first two were a couple of ultrasabers base lit stunt sabers for $60 each, no sound and only one color. then I got a basic LGT eco RGB base lit saber along with the LGT Ben Solo RGB base lit for a total of $200 second hand. Neither of which had smooth swing unfortunately. Then from the same seller I got the LGT Kanan Jarus RGB base lit saber that did have smooth swing. But i found myself really wanting something with a Neopixel set up. so i bit the bullet and bought myself The LGT Darth Reven Hilt with a Xenopixel V2 core from Darkwolf for $330. I cant wait.

But is the lack of brightness not something that can be fixed? I mean it’s some LEDs are brighter and some aren’t. I can buy for example a 15w LED bulb for a lamp or a 25w both same size but different brightness. RGBs usually have 12w as far as I saw, which is not really ideal for a lightsaber set up. So replacing the 12w with a 25w should that do the trick?

On theory yes but the blade on a base lit will always be brighter at the bottom and dimmer at the top as the light travels

@@AbsoluteSabers sure but a brighter LED would compensate that. Especially since RGB are cheaper.. A LOT cheaper. Sure a brighter LED draws more energy from the battery but ya it should work fine.

I can’t say for sure yes or no. Some people use the neopixel sabers for combat and have no issues. I personally don’t and wouldn’t but it can be done

Honestly a xenopixel would be perfect buddy, the blades are now very very tough to break, not indestructible however but a xeno would be great for a 7 year old, my 4 year old son has one and loves it

Very informative! I own a RGB equipped with a 3000mAh reachable battery. What battery capacity is recommended for each type? What would be the maximum battery capacity for each?

Generally with 18650 batteries the higher the capacity the lower the safe continuous discharge amperage rating so max I’d recommend would be 3600mah but most common and reliable are usually about 3200mah or there abouts

No but there is a difference in customer service, the prices are roughly the same, give it take a couple £s. The customer service is far superior and most people are also hesitant about buying from China direct.

Neo pixel just looks far better, but most people dont want them for dualing due to being scared of breaking the blade, which are expensive!

@@adamduffield7782 there are adapters for neo pixel set ups that temporarily converts to in hilt. Its still connecting LEDs via 2 PCBs but the one side is connected a tri cree instead of a string blade.

@@jeremydrew1227 that is true, but the cost of a nepixel to tri cree led converter is just as much as a new baselit core for LGT sabers which padawan outpost sell, so, which you prefer really converter or new core to swap out. Only fully custom built sabers will require a converter as the cores arent isually interchangeable.

Pretty much. Neopixel blades have strips of leds inside the blade, they communicate with the soundboard via a pcb and set of logo pins inside the hilt. The base lit sabers are like a flashlight, they have a set of high powered bulbs inside the top of the hilt which project into a hollow blade

Actually not true as my ultimate works blade is nowhere near as bright as the lgt, which I was very surprised about BUT yeah there are much higher quality blades on the market from the likes of the KR pixel stick to Sabertrio, just need to look around and do the research for sure!

@@deezusnubes depends, the xenopixel boards are good enough to light a neopixel blade properly, just bright as a proffie board, just not open source. The LGT base lit arent as good as others, but that's because they use a single rgb LED instead of a tri RGB LED emitter that non LGT sabers use.
