Family is the place where child is nurtured physically(food and growth) and mentally ( values) and protection in tender age but should allow them to choose how they want to live after certain age,let them choose life, take resposibilty for their life and live its consequenses in everyway. In the process all families may not be same for natural reasons( genetics) ,social and economic reasons but it is still serving its great purpose . Sons of a father who is thief can be a thief or police. So cant say only family gives good or bad attributes to children. Many other factors play around families. Family system should survive as long as they have children.

+Pallavi Miriyala well, you made a point. It is necessary to have a social fabric like family in the society, but not in its current form. Ramu opines that it is better to have a family system practicing adoption of kids from a lot which has children from different groups and races and raising them like their own kids, as it avoids major problems in the society like corruption, etc. Having their own son/ daughter again invites egoism in them which confines to protect women only from their family. So in a way, why can't we have a society where even a neighbor shares an equal responsibility of a blood related brother?

+Pallavi Miriyala that's true. It is not easy to roll the entire nation into one. We already have castes very much deep rooted in the society and to adopt a culture like that is difficult and it will take ages. I understand the stereotypes women face today. We are witnessing a revolution slowly, hopefully a change emerges. The individualistic thoughts Ramu mentions are still nascent in India. I'm sure his thoughts spread and take a form in future. I like his idea of not having kids as heirs/ descendants but thoughts and ideas should be heirs for a person.
