RH-10 AK-47 AKM first impressions

Few things I forgot: Positives: Cold hammer forged/chrome lined barrel, forged milspec trunion/bolt/bolt carrier, mil-spec parts. Negatives: shorter sight radius with the gasbloc front sight combo.

That sight base is pistol length, but throw on something like a Ultimak & even a cheap red dot, and you're in business, but the short site base is short, with tuned sites it is still plenty good for a fighting rifle. I was going to get the M10 barreled receiver which is basically the same thing minus furniture & trigger, and throw on a bonesteel folder, but between Robski & Jim Fuller I opted for the PSA AK-E & triangle folder. I hope I made a good choice. With the RPK sites can you carefully open up the notch with a file like is common on standard sites?

@@CristianSanchez-cd4jp I've had one for about half a year now, and I'm loving it! Switched out a lot of external parts so far and a new trigger retainer finally. I recommend the first modification if you get one to be the trigger retainer as I did have some issues with that in my first 400 rounds. Other than that, no failure to feeds, extract, double feeds, nothing. :)

Rifle looks sweet with a Bonesteel folder. Almost Galil-ish between the front sight gas block and galil stock.

My brake hasn’t come loose after about 1000 rds, I switched out the wood for all magpul polymer.

I picked up one of these last week haven't shot it yet, my rear sight leaf is canted to hell luckily it's adjustable so hopefully it will zero fine.

Very nice review... even though it loses the traditional look I kind of like that one piece front sight gas block combo. Also like the adjustable rear sight 4 windage just in case something is a little off I always hate it when the front post is not centered in the front sight Tower

Just get Krebs Custom safety lever and internal plate for the Shepherd's hook. Grab some XTech Tactical Mags and you are ready for the range.

Yeah, they put that crappy rear sight on all the RH10s for some reason, which a lot of people have complained about. I’m sure you already saw Rob Ski’s review of the rifle. Not sure if I want to drop the cash on an RH10 when I already have a WASR and a VEPR.

I'm curious how this rear sight compares to a standard RPK rear sight. I've heard people saying that they are the same exact rear sight. If they are the same then I wonder why people are now complaining about these sights when they have been around for a while.

i had one where i removed the rear sight and switched out the dust cover for one with a rear sight on it ..worked well..much better sight picture

@Abe with Shades RH10s are not hard to find. You can Google the rifle and easily get half a dozen dealers that can ship to your local FFL.
