I definitely like how they made this story tragic by changing their age and relationships. I see them as close friends who, by the will of fate, found themselves on different sides of the war, and whose lives changed because of intrigues, which eventually turned them into enemies.

Imo Alicenth is a pawn in her father’s hands. She has no personal ambition to be Queen, her father wants her to generate a male heir to the throne to increase the Hightower power. I hope she will eventually realize it and rebel. It’s also the only way I can see her and Rhaenyra being friends again
