I love the arrangement of this song you did, it's so Rhaenyra. The beginning with that soft touch and the echoing sound like screams follow at 0:20, like her ascension to heir to the iron throne and the shadow of war that means. Then, it's like the tone becomes rebellious, defiant and whimsical, young Rhaenyra and her exploration for fancies, desire, power and recognition. A gentle interlude beginning at 0:54, motherhood and love, the happiness that comes to her with each child of hers and then also with Daemon, but something still keeps escalating in the background with the female voice following along, almost as if wanting to contrast it but never quite making it, and then at 1:38 her tragedies begin... the death of her father and how it turns her whole world upside down. Every beat another loss, at 1:41 I count the first one with Lucerys, and it goes on, death and tragedy, it doesn't stop until the female voice disappears ripped out of her own song.

This is fantastic stuff! Rhaenyra's theme conveys her strength, for sure. I'm reluctant to compare her to Daenerys, since the Targyen family dynamic on display on HOTD shows how vital family relations are for their success and survival. In some ways, Daenerys never had a chance to reach her true potential because she had no other Targaryens to advise her through her aspirations. But Rhaenyra, she's got great potential as a leader because she's both strategically savvy (as in the selection of the most combat-experienced Ser Kristin Cole for the kingsguard) and fierce like a Targaryen should be.
@JeremyBraunsMusic2 жыл бұрын
I can only agree! Her theme (the part with the voices) striked me because it's not all about power, it's very subtle too, almost calm and calculated. That fits well with the sense of strategy she's developing so far

Rhaenyra for sure. I wasn't really fond of Dany (Emilia clarke did a fantastic job, i'm talking about the character itself), she was a naive idealistic who wanted to be, almost pretended to be queen. Rhaenyra so far doesn't pretend , she just has that bearing and temperament of a proper princess who understand reality but still want to fight it (being a woman heir to the throne). She knows you can't simply escape the game of thrones because you have dragons. I'm really looking forward to her character development.

@franciscoalmeida83042 жыл бұрын
Rhaenyra is amazing but she's awful too. She's a spoiled princess that grew up in court in the red keep, Daenerys had to fight and earn all she achieved, Rhaenyra did not. Rhaenyra is a lot more naive than Daenerys. Daenerys never pretended to be queen she actually was, in essos she was khalissi by choice of the Dothraki, she was queen of mereen and Myhsa also by choice of the people, a lot more honourable than succession and heir naming. Daenerys plays a lot more the game than Rhaenyra, she knew how to deal with Astapor, she knew to take a husband in Mereen and has had to deal with a plague in the city and assassins all around her. Rhaenyra can't even put on a farce to attend the hunt and all the festivities and gain political support and connections. Where in the world does Rhaenyra understand reality when she lived her whole life in the red keep? She isn't escaping the game of thrones because she isn't even playing yet. You're comment says a lot that not only you probably go by the show which is bs, you didn't even read the books and you didn't even name Rhaenyra's strongest points and gifts. Experts with no expertise I guess
@limonsoda2 жыл бұрын
@@franciscoalmeida8304 Opinions are all valid in interpretation, but the truth has facts to be reminded. Yes, Daenerys was more "self made", she also screwed a lot of what she achieved, including the liberation of slaves in the free cities, mass murder along the east, and the complete fail on controlling her dragons. She believed in prophecy so much, that she just went mad when things didn't go her way, never had the temperament to actually play the game of thrones. In this early point of the story, Rhaenyra is not innocent at all, she is aware of her stance, but she is a figther, very much like Daenerys as there are parallels (they are not opposit characters), but she actually plays the game of thrones better. That is not really a virtue, mind you, is part of the resason why the dance of the dragons came to be, and Rhaenyra, similar to Daenerys, wont remain a sympatethic character in all of her arch.
@RealVincent19892 жыл бұрын
@@limonsoda "Went mad" - omg. There;s just so much wrong with waht you wrote. "A Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing" Measter Aemon was so wise. The feeling of loneliness after her mother's death I feel it affected Rhae's decision making and also made her more prone to feel infauated towards the only person who seemed to get her...her uncle, and Daenerys couldn't really reach her full potential since she didn't have anyone. She wanted a home and family...she had nothing to go back to. Dany couldn't even have children😭 In my opinion, only a Targaryen can comprehend another Targaryen. They are almost gods in earth with their power and bond with dragons...plus the blood of Old Valyria...how can someone common relate to them?
