I found that lowering the defrost termination temperature from 70 to 60 on the defrost board seems to correct this. It is happening in defrost mode.

I have the same issue with the LENNOX unit in heating mode happens sporadically. I think it might be the check valve in the expansion valve, causing the issue. Customer had the high-pressure switch and defrost board changed in February 1921. Gauges on I found 325 on going out and about 300 coming back for 10 AC system, I’m trying to get in touch with LENNOX but they won’t talk to you unless you have a registered account so there’s a LENNOX supply house near me. I’m gonna go in there see if they can help me out but I’m looking at the expense valve I did put it in cooling when I was there because it was 58° out that day, and the cooling mode seemed fine did not seem overcharged.

You got oil flooding the lines and soaked the liq drier, also a bad TXV. Blow out the lines with nitrogen at 800psi , replace the drier and outdoor TXV , weigh in the factory charge and your good 👍

Maybe his filter got dirty and he changed it before you got there. Happened to me last week. I went outside & looked in the trash and found it.

Maybe he thought he was in cooling energized the reversing valve and actually had it I. Heating and got side tracked drinking a adult beverage and then realized he still had it ju.ped out at the airhandler and took the jumper wires off and never went outside to Check the outdoor unit because it had got dark and chilly and a little buzzed .or the digital thermostat was running heat when it was in cooling and it is a intermittent problem and when you che k unit it runs perfect especially when you need air-conditioning in the day and heat at night and they switching back and forth between heT and cooling had a few of them DIY ones that have a slide switch to change it

Short the test pins to override the lockout. Sorry it took so long to respond.

I have run across Rheems going off on hps during defrost cycle In milder heat mode.

Do you think the HP might be going bad?

Not really. It’s only 4 yrs old and was running fine till the day the other guy was there.

Hey bud good video but I wanted to point out that you do have your high pressure gauge hooked up to the wrong port.
@myHVAClife10 ай бұрын
Actually NO! It is a heat pump, in heat mode the discharge/high line is your suction line in a/c mode and the port in between the 2 lines is the true suction/low. Heat pump runs reverse flow.
@extremeair119910 ай бұрын
@@myHVAClife I do understand how a heat pump operates, I can tell the way you subtly bashed rheem that you don't work on and/or care for them but you did indeed hook gauges wrong. What you most likely are familiar with is units such as carrier which uses a piston as a metering device in the outdoor unit, in those cases you would be correct in your gauge set up. Rheem uses a txv in outdoor unit and in heating mode you would hook low side gauge to true suction and high side would be going to the same liquid line as in cooling mode. Please look into it if you still don't believe me, I've been doing this 20 years and I'm sure you've maybe been at it just as long if not longer but in my case I use Rheem often and I'm very familiar with them.
@extremeair119910 ай бұрын
Rheem definitely does things differently, just like most system energize the reversing valve in cooling mode Rheem systems energize the reversing valve in heating mode and use b terminal in place of the commonly used o terminal

@@jaimelamas2568 you're welcome glad you can appreciate doing things the right way, sometimes you can point out someone's error and they are still stuck in their ways and refuse to learn. Me personally I could do this for 50 years and still be happy to learn anything from anybody at anytime.
