This rewrite of this episode is gold! Great job! On the side note, I'm surprised the signalmen wasn't punished for being careless with the points, "again".

Brilliant adaptation of another one of the best Gordon episodes of the show! I like how you added some creative liberties like the trucks pushing Gordon and Salty and Gordon making up near the end which is something I kinda wish we saw in the actual episode, but it also gave some Railway Series vibes and even the episode itself feels as if it's ripped from one of Awdry's pages. I think it would've made a grand fit if Salty ever had a Railway Series book to himself.
@erikthetrainmaster6112 Жыл бұрын
You know, if Salty had a railway series book, it would be titled Salty the Dockyard Diesel and it would contain the episodes Sally’s Secret, No Sleep for Cranky or Mavis Helps Out, Gordon Takes a Tumble and Salty’s Stormy Tale

I loved this adaptation! It was great seeing an epilogue (idk if that's the correct term to use so my apologies it it isnt) about Gordon and Salty talking after Gordon's crash as I wish we got that in the episode. I'm glad we got an explanation for the points being set for the branchline too as it always bothered me that we didn't in the episode

2:28 - One small goof. I think that you meant to have Gordon say "But, Sir, I'm no goods engine" or "...I'm an express engine". I think he'd rather be painted black or work on branch lines than say that he's a goods engine, lol. Nonetheless, I really liked this rewrite, especially how you mixed up the cast to include BoCo and Fergus, as well as give other characters a chance to have a bigger part in the story.

So this is a little rewrite to Gordon takes a Tumble. So for this version, it takes place around Season 7 and it's more accurate then randomly having characters like Thomas and Percy appear working at a line that we don't usually see. At least storywise or something. I think I like this version of the episode. Well done on this. Keep up the good work and take your time on your other videos and stuff.

In my headcanon, I think the old branchline is the old entrance to Great Waterton. Explains why its rural and the tracks are old and rusty, Its because the line was no longer used after Great Waterton was abandoned. It also explains why nobody was at the farm but a scarecrow.

I've got an idea for a Something In the Air RWS style adaptation. Early one morning, the Fat Controller came to see his engines at Ffarquhar. "Ah, good morning engines," he smiled. "I need an engine to take fish vans from Norramby to Knapford for Henry's Flying Kipper later this evening. Toby and Daisy, you already have enough work for today. Thomas and Percy, I need either of you to go. Do I have any volunteers?" Percy smiled. "I'll go, sir, even if the smell of fish doesn't impress me much," he said. "That's a good engine. If you leave now then you shouldn't be late for you-know-who," beamed the Fat Controller. It was nearly lunchtime when Percy arrived at the Fishing Village. Vans getting loaded with fish needed to get shunted. Percy's driver and fireman went into a tavern to get some food. Meanwhile, Percy began to fret. The workmen were using old equipment and the job was taking a long time. "I'll be late for Henry and he won't like it. Please hurry up and - " Percy was interrupted rudely. His driver and fireman who had just come back from lunch snickered. A crane had dropped a crate of fish on Percy, who huffed: "Phew! What a pong!" Percy's driver said, "Don't worry, my boy. You can have a nice washdown later. Let's just get this job done first." Soon they were speeding down the picturesque coastal track. Suddenly they saw a man waving a red flag. "What's the matter now?" Percy grumpily questioned. "High tides are damaging the line. I've marked the spot," replied the man. "We'll just inspect," the driver said. The guard placed an amber lamp on a stick to warn other trains. "It'd be dangerous for big engines like Gordon and Henry to take this line yet it's safe enough for Percy," said the fireman. "After we've arrived at the docks we must tell them to close the line." Henry waited impatiently for Percy's trucks. "Ugh! You're late and that stench is making me sick," he remarked crassly. "I can't help it, it's the fish and there's danger on the rails, that's why we're late," Percy retorted. "Pah! You're the only danger on the rails, Percy! Now quit wasting time and get your trucks hitched to my train!" snapped Henry. "Bossy boots," Percy muttered. Afterwards, Percy's crew were drinking coffee with the yard master in his office when they heard Henry's whistle. There he was, steaming out of the station with the Flying Kipper. "What line is Henry taking tonight?" demanded Percy's fireman. "The coastal run, it's the quickest," came the blunt reply. "But I told you, it's dangerous for trains like Henry to use that track!" The yard master called the signalman, but it was too late as Henry had already passed it in addition to James who was pulling the post train. "I'll soon make up for lost time," Henry harrumphed. But he was wrong. By the time he reached the coastal track, he couldn't see where he was going. "Driver, slow down! I can't see anything!" he cried. "No, no!" shouted the vans, who were tired of Henry's rudeness. "Go on! Go on!" They knocked his crew off the footplate. That's when the mist cleared and, even though Henry tried to stop, the trucks pushed him into the sea! After the tide fell, Sir Topham Hatt found out about the incident. Boats were sent to rescue the train. The Fat Controller spoke severely about the episode. "Engines don't swim Henry. You were meant to deliver fish, not swim with them," he scolded. "Yes sir. I'm sorry, sir," sighed Henry. Some boys at the docks were delighted with Henry's dilemma. "Look at that green whale!" one said. "It's not a whale, Einstein, it's a monster!" jeered another. "Geez Louise Henry, I bet you'll have many fishy tales to tell!" added Cranky the crane mockingly. Henry was sad. Percy felt sorry for him though. "Come on, it's time for a washdown," he said, pulling him to the washdown. "I'm sorry I roasted you, Percy," said Henry. "It's all good. But do you smell something?" asked Percy. "What?" gasped Henry. "Fresh air!" laughed Percy.
