Piddlin means going outside and tinkering around but accomplishing very little. I’ve never heard the word to be used with a loved one or going out! Is usually done alone, in back yard or farm or whatever.

I could probably find the answer to this question by looking at your profile, but I'm too damned lazy for that: Where in the South did you grow up? Where I'm from, that term "piddling" usually means something like "doing a few chores around the house or yard, but not undertaking a serious household project." I got curious about the meaning of the word upon learning that it is a slang term for urination in much of the English-speaking world (and drawing a quizzical look when I used it!).

In Scotland it means to urinate also 😂 so I guess you guys are just pissing around

Never heard it in use involving anyone else. Piddlin around in the shed, is the same as just dickin around in the shed. Not doing anything important, just messing around.
