Hey! Thanks for the help! Can you explain why we dont feel a shock when touching the bare wire?
@rhettallain4 жыл бұрын
If you are using a D-cell battery (1.5 volts), that's not a shock. The wire gets hot if you have the wire going from one end of the battery to the other (this is called a short)

@@rhettallain Why don't we feel the electricity while holding the wires and lightbulb?
@jensenmacneil69144 жыл бұрын
Is the voltage not high enough in the battery? Is it because the wire is a better conductor? Plz help were presenting in 2 mins
@rhettallain4 жыл бұрын
@@jensenmacneil6914 it's both. When you get shocked, you mostly feel the electric current. With 1.5 volts, the current is super low. Also, if you are holding onto a wire, then most of the current goes through the wire and not your body.

@rhettallain5 жыл бұрын
If the bulb is rated at 2.47 volts, that is the voltage for the optimal brightness. I will have current going through it at any lower voltage - but it might not be very bright.

I would recommend any 1.5 volt battery (so AAA, AA, C, D) - but not a 9volt battery and not one of those button cell batteries. As for the lightbulb - this is one of those tiny incandescent bulbs (not LED). You can find these at a hobby store or in one of those cheap flashlights.
