Dr. Jonathan Samuels, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone Health ans Associate Director of Clinical Initiatives in the Division of Rheumatology. Dr. Samuels has been using musculoskeletal ultrasound in his clinical practice and research since 2008, and is the division’s Director of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He is a mentor and board member of the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists, an online training program for rheumatologists to learn ultrasound techniques, and teaches ultrasound at various weekend courses designed for rheumatologists. His ultrasound-based research has focused on applications and questions in osteoarthritis and gout, while most of his other investigative efforts center on clinical research in osteoarthritis. In today's lecture, Dr. Samuels discusses anatomy, basic pathology, and guided intervention using musculoskeletal ultrasound.
