Great overview. I'm glad you demonstrated the blend curves function to create the cross section curves there.

Hi, how did you manage with the gumball to change the straight line into a curve?((0:51 and 0:56)Thank you
@simpernchong
@simpernchong Жыл бұрын
Hi, you have to use a single span degree-3 curve.. as it will provide 4 control points. The easiest way to do this is to use the Interpolate Curve (InterpCrv) command and set it to degree 3. Then, when you use the gumball to select the control points, there will be sufficient points for selection.

rhino sweep 2 rail shape duplicate an existing sweep shape mean i am sweeping in two parts and after sweeping first place when try to sweep on second the shape again generated on the first one. how we control where we want the sweep shape on right side or left? thank u
@simpernchong
@simpernchong Жыл бұрын
Erm..sorry I don't really understand. Got to select both rail curves first (one at a time). Then select the sweep shape.

@@simpernchong sir i mean that suppose we draw 2 rails and 3 cross sections for the sweep shape. First we select both rails and select 2 cross sections the first and the second which is in the middle and sweep the shape. Now when i again select the 2 rails and the middle cross section and the last the third cross section and use sweep 2 rails the shape again genrates on top of the previous shape. Mean i am trying to sweep 2 rail between the middle and the last thirs cross section but the shape generated between the first and the middle cross section. I hope i made it clear this time. Thanks

@@simpernchong So my question was,, I was building a tropical fingery leaf(imagine a hand) and got stuck to making each small fingery part of a leaf for controlling its height. It is literally so bulgy.. What I thought was that to build a body in the middle and fingers separately each using sweep2rail, then connect those with Blendsrf. I can manage Blendsrf, but the problem is that ´maintain height’ command doesn’t work when I try to build a closed object. I know it is because it narrows down to the tip to be closed and if I leave the tip open, then I can maintain height flat. But I have to close the tips anyways, and making a flat tunnel and than ´patch’ or another sweep 2rail or whatever commands to fully cover the finger is not natural and not what I want to.. if I fully do sweep2rail to the tip, it bulges through arcs(bridging curves) and the height rapidly drops down to the tip… I was ok with building a body part(like a palm) with sweep2rail because it is basically a simple circle with no lines narrows down although it is still a little bulgy too, but the real problem is fingery parts. The leaf is organic and I like to have a full control on height… Sorry that I might confuse you.. please let me know if you don’t understand anything..

@@Kk-jj3xi Ok.... I think i understand. But i don't think sweep 2 rail is the ideal solution. Have you consider using the sub-D multipipe instead? If it is not possible to create the branches in one go because the the difference in thickness, perhaps you can build them in difference stages with difference thickness.
