We are using Edelkrone for years and have the same issue on a daily basis. Plus unstable bluetooth connection all the time. Seems there is no motor slider out there which is actually working

It seems all sliders on the market have flaws! I am looking for one for timelapse. YC Onion slider is on my list.

@AdamDuffArt I know it's been ages since you have examined a slider, but I was wondering if you would be open to reviewing the Zeapon Micro 3 and Zeapon Axis for comparison, for a first-time budget user? I would be further interested in whether a pan/tilt from another manufacturer can be mounted on them, as their own seems flaky?

I had my ARC II updated to V2 about a year ago. Still nothing but problems.

Thank you for this great and professional review, and by the way the quality of your videos are so great too in terms of lighting and color grading.

I've had this thing for 2 years and I've never been able to fully use it. Nothing but issues. I have it set correctly but it never completes its calibration. They sent me a new motor but it's still not working. So frustrating to spend this much money and can't use it.

Hey Adam love you. Gladd to see you're doing well. Remember to drink water, and if you haven't been told lately. Your light, Your voice, your passion for not only art but for your care for people is a small sanctuary in this corner of the internet. You are only a man but you have been the pillars to so many drowning in the seas of life. Thank you for being, just being.

Could try Axibo instead. Mechanical stuff isn't as portable but I hear the software is fantastic.

My rhino arc 2 has stopped working entirely after maybe 10 uses? It won't charge or power on at all. All I hear is clicking. Rhino won't respond to me.

So glad to find this video. I've been weighing the options for months and this perspective was really really helpful.

Thank you for thsi video Adam. It's always great knowing the other side of the what is a revered product. I do have a concern that Rhino being a very small company, may just shut down without warning. Not to say they are irresponsible but just a thought. Kessler Crane has similar products and I have owned the analog Shuttlepod for a decade plus. It's getting too old and I need a replacement thus its either Rhino or Kessler. I dun think I can take the messy app that Edelkrone has plus their products have not proven to be the most durable.

Yes, I've experienced the Rhino 'Small Company' definition first hand. I bought the original ARC 4 years ago. I needed some repairs since it was becoming jittery but, they responded: "we do not offer repairs on the EVO system any more, as it is no longer manufactured, and hasn't been for some time now".

@@theopticalfiles3395 Thanks for sharing that. It's absolutely gutting to hear that from companies and puts ome off their products once and for all.

I got mine today and when I turned it on, I saw 3 firmware updates. Let’s see if I run into the same problems. The Edelkrone is a no go and as Gerald undone has described, it’s trash in comparison with the ease of use of the Rhino Arc2

Now i really wish I saw this video before. Second day of trying out my Rhino and it already stopped working. No support online to look up error codes.

For me, I'm finding the support from Rhino to be very slow. They say they are back logged from the holidays, but they sent me a defective focus motor right off the bat. I couldn't get them to respond to me after I sent 8 emails.

Interesting experiment with the macro lens to test the accuracy of the Rhino systems waypoint keyframes. It would be informative to see the same approach using the Edelkrone system for comparison (I've seen your response to Gerald Undone, but a specific test would be more useful). Absolutely agree that Rhino's sliders tick so many boxes mechanically but lack pro-quality software implementation - such a shame!

… hey Adam, got my JibONE v2 yesterday - and it‘s amazing good, what edelkrone did with it. 👍🏻

As a Rhino Arc II owner, I feel the same. Besides that, to my surprise, they still don't have an android app. When I asked them "why?", the reply was ~ "it (the app) is too expensive to make"... The situation with wires is frustrating. I believe that expensive gear should make you work easier, but I always rely on luck when I use Arc II slider.

Hi Adam :) i had the same problem with this great device, software was not nice. This time i bought an iphone only for Rhino. But the App not work on the newest Firmware because its not possible to calibrate, it drives to wrong side and cracked. Second prblem is, you see in my test video kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJyZg4Kla7lsjpI that the vibrations exist when use shift+slide motor. it is not extreme, but i hoped it was possible without jitter. For macro video it is not nice. Third thing, when program a movement, Rhino start and stop with a little shake. And the tilt or shift motor work asynchrone together. And cable problem :D i attach it to the front of the silver wheel. no slide cable crash again.
