Thank you for showing me Blendcrv. Rhino 3D has so many tools, that I've still not used them all. : ) There are more than one way to make most things. Another way of making the cutting edge of the scissor blade is to create a surface with a curl on one end, and then rotate it on the angle you want, and do a solid boolean, which approximates the way the real scissors are ground--until it comes to the grinding wheel, which gives it that characteristic radius.

And whilst you are at it, it would be totally cool to be able to sync the preferences, like aliases etc. And while I like working on my 4K screen on the windows version, the font is too small on the Mac. It should be adjustable like the icons are. Last thing, I really dig your tutorials, learn a lot from it and to be able to participate at your thinking process is extremely valuable.

1:05.00 Yeah that's when you send it into Solidworks. Filleting in Rhino is still not so good. This SubD stuff however is like magic.

Fillet edge feature is a nightmare in Rhino ? All versions have this problem.

It’s v7 only, and you’ll want the latest updates. Run toolbarreset command to see new tools. Note: back up any custom ui as this will reset your toolbars to default and you will lose any custom ui.

Near the end at 1:05:00 . The fact that a simple freaking fillet fails makes me really want to not use Rhino. Same with boolean operations that for some magic reason just not work. Please make some videos on what we as users are doing wrong or try to improve the tool. Other than that Rhino is fantastic for me

Fillets fail because they can’t trim or the radius is too large. I’m this case the trim failed, likely because I was asking for a radius that was too large. I could have spent more time digging into that, but time was getting tight. Typically speaking, if the fillet fails you are trying to stuff more radius into a corner than the surrounding surfaces can support. There are several approaches for filleting, one of which is pipe trim and blend which I showed later. Can fillets be better? Sure. Are they a reason to not use Rhino? Not in my experience. The places they fail are for a reason and are easily modeled around with another style of blend.

@@Rhinoceros3d I would really appreciate the fillet tool to have the function of telling what the maximum possible radius is for each section of the fillet edge. Like you said here, it costs a lot of time with trial and error to find out what radius does work. Leading you to give up

@@Rhinoceros3d Fillet is really a big problem in Rhino..here in this video there is only one edge if we deal with a model with multiple faces it becomes hard to manage and also consumes our time. No doubt it is one of the best software till now I have used but want improved fillet tool. Thanks for this tutorial Kyle has presented very well in it.

Fillets in Rhino are disaster. I always import Rhino models to Fusion 360 to make more complex fillets because Rhino fails.

Disaster may be strong. There is a fundamental difference in math from a solid kernel program, to a surfaces kernel program. We are a surface program. Could they be better? Yes. 100%. Are there strategies that will help your fillets work way better? Absolutely. (I rarely have fillets fail In a way that stops me from getting what I want) Please send models that fail to us so we can see what’s happening. If it’s a software issue we’ll do everything we can to make them better. If it’s an input error, we’ll gladly suggest ideas to make life easier.

@@Rhinoceros3d No honestly this is not good enough. I should not have to plan around how to make a fillet. Solidworks does this like it read my mind. And don't get me wrong- I love your program and use it everyday. But this really is my one giant beef with Rhino.
