I've been listening to Ratt since this song debuted on the radio. I'll be 61 this year, wife has been passed over two decades now and my kids are all grown but metal still rules the airwaves around here. I love the new stuff that is being made today as well as the big hair sound.

What did it feel like listening for the first time?
@tombrittingham10235 ай бұрын
I'll chime in on this... my experience 1st hearing this was similar to when I 1st heard Eruption & Runnin with Devil by Van Halen on the radio ... it got my attention on the 1st note and 5 seconds in I'm asking "Who the F IS THAT?". Back then, life revolved around music. At least my life did... music videos were a new thing in the 80's, prior to that you would watch Don Kirshners Midnite Theatre at midnite on friday night to see bands, or go to the concert. Concerts were often and was a common activity. Music was magic. Music spoke the words we lived. Music was my politics, my bible, my guide in life(not always good btw). I lived and breathed music, always had the radio, record player or cassette player on. Dreams of the future were crafted by the words in the songs like a dream. Thats what it was like. Then I grew up and now it seems like a lifetime ago. Now when I hear the songs its like a time machine taking me back to carefree times doing things that often weren't in my best interests as I look back. At the time, nobody could persuade me otherwise. All in all, if I could go back for a do-over... I shoulda turned it up louder and partied more!

@@connorkapooh2002...I was energized, eager, enthused and hopeful at how, that I was in the midst of music that was iconic, transformative and long-lasting. I knew the second I heard this song, I was thunder struck; it was deja-vu and everything just came crumbling down. At that point I was at the crossroads; the nexus of the universe, my paradigm was totally shattered but only to be rebuilt from the bottom to the top, like the proverbial Phoenix. RATT helped me to understand that "all is not for naught" and my future would be wide open with innumerable opportunities...that's what I experienced when I heard this song and that's what happened...exactly!🤗

I don't know any guitarist that overlooked Warren when I started playing in the 80's.
@johnfreel60042 жыл бұрын
Funny I knew a lot of guitar players that chose lesser guitar players over Warren. Always being shadowed by Eddie and Yngwie. The whole band was greatness but because it was considered big hair metal. a lot of people chose Guns and Roses or Metallica and brushed them under the rug in the later 80s. I hated that the hair metal bands were considered posers and didn’t get credit like they should have until poison came out and blew it for all of them! Still was the greatest era to be a musician though.
@pastorofmuppets19682 жыл бұрын
@@johnfreel6004 good point. I guess in our little band of merry men that I grew up playing guitar with he was a pretty big influence. Others that I was influenced by were the guys in Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and also Vivian Campbell from Dio and Randy Rhoads from Ozzy. Yngwie, Steve Via and all the Shrapnel guys came a little later. I really can't say that I was influenced much by Eddie. I appreciate him and his playing but not really much of an influence when I started.
@johnfreel60042 жыл бұрын
Me too!! Eddie was great but I stayed away from trying to play like him! So many were trying too! But man was that the era for rock! Rock was finally royalty in the 80s! Now we are old farts and the new generation of Hip Hop has taken over.😔 Wish you well though and miss our era!
