One of my greatest memories. My Dad, brother, and I (all heavily bearded men), were all going to a blues concert in a Chrysler 300. It dawns on me half way there, three men like us, going to a blues show in a big body Chrysler show car. All we needed to do was start saying "how-how-how" and start wearing shades in the dark.

ZZ Top carved out their own niche. Tracks like this are industrial strength boogie. Riffs that simple and that memorable are incredibly difficult to do, but they made a career out of them. This is stuff that will last.

Fun fact. ZZ top still has a warehouse full of cars in San Antonio. My dad used to maintain them. He was close friends with the whole group. That 32 Ford was a true delight

It still blows me away that just 3 guys could deliver so much solid music for so many years. Frank's ability to drum is just incredible. I remember seeing them around the Clear Lake (you know where I'm talking about) real often and getting a chance to talk with them on occasion.

I was born in ‘85 and I remember my mom had the cassette and playing this in the 80 something Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser station wagon 😅 She passed away 2 years ago from heart failure and diabetes but I will never forget the great memories and music from my childhood. I think music is our only real time machine. 😊

These guys are one of if not the most badass looking band to emerge from the vastly-encompassing umbrella term for what would be considered "classic rock". Totally agree, they were minimalists. Although in blues, rock and electronica (mix of sonic styles), the instrumentation, drums, vocals are just enough. They leave you wanting more. That's probably the secret, although it was already a magic formula, just enhanced.

The carpet was a bit too furry for my liking in the 80's, 90's were better before boob jobs became big, if you look through early 90's soft porn magazines, the women were just a lot more feminine, nicer hair, nicer carpet, less chance of silicone, what could be better?
