This brings back memories of a girlfriend that I had in 1966. A terrible experience with LSD/ STP resulted in a serious psychotic episode that required frequent hospitalizations. This was not due to one 'trip,' but extensive regular use of LSD, and then STP aka DOM. We were living in San Francisco during the STP debacle (many freakouts!). Everything began to overwhelm her as the years rolled by, and her depression worsened. She finally succeeded in taking her life after many attempts in 1997. Lucy was one of the most creative, insightful and fun souls that I have ever met! You were too good for this life, my love ... RIP Lucy . You are in my heart now and forever. @@peterobbo7512 thank you « peterobbo ». I’m very glad to hear that other people had and still have the same feeling about this music. When I say these guys changed my life I do not try to be « lyrical » . It’s really what I lived. You must imagine how France was in the early seventies: A very nice but very old fashion country. So when I first heard this « suite Judy blue eyes » it just blew my mind and made me see the world in total different colours. Today I still work on this song full of guitar secrets that I recently learned and it’s still a tremendous joy to play their music. Thanks also to YOU TUBE thanks to whom we can today learn these secrets and also share a few words about CSN with other people at the other side of the planet.

It's getting to the point where I am no fun anymore, I am sorry Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud, 'I am lonely.' I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard Remember what we've said, and done and felt about each other, oh babe, have mercy Don't let the past, remind us of what we are not now, I am not dreaming I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard Tearing yourself away from me now, you are free and I am crying This does not mean I don't love you, I do, that's forever, yes, and for always I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret. Are you still listening? Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart and I love you I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are And you make it hard, and you make it hard, and you make it hard, and you make it hard Friday evening, Sunday in the afternoon, what have you got to lose? Tuesday morning, please be gone, I'm tired of you what have you got to lose? Can I tell it like it is, listen to me baby It's my heart that's a suffering, it a-dying and that's what I have to lose I've got an answer. I'm going to fly away, what have I got to lose? Will you come see me Thursdays and Saturdays? What have you got to lose? Chestnut brown canary, ruby throated sparrow Sing a song, don't be long, thrill me to the marrow Voices of the angels, ring around the moonlight Asking me, said, she so free, how can you catch the sparrow? Lacy, lilting lyrics, losing love lamenting. Change my life, make it right, be my lady

This is such a memorable, amazing, beautiful song. My father played it on guitar when I was very young. And my grandparents would put it on the stereo when I slept overnight at their house on the weekends. My gramma just passed away yesterday morning, and I am hurting so much right now. I love you so much gramma. You gave me such happy moments, and wherever you are now, I hope grampa is there holding your hand. ♥

I'll give Stills credit for two of the greatest songs of the 20th century, this and 'For What It's Worth'. I remember a freshman college English class way back in '69 where the middle aged teacher decided to change things up and have us take apart and discuss these lyrics. Interesting how Stills and the band totally took apart what we expect a rock and roll song to sound like.

Three groups that immediately come to mind with great vocal harmonies: CSN, Beatles, and Hollies. Graham Nash also a member of The Hollies. I agree, their voices complement each other perfectly.

Can Crosby, Stills & Nash ever get old? It pertains to life today just as much as when written & recorded. Then you have much it is loved.. listen to the music & that is all you need. This group was powerful in it’s peacefulness!

Being 13 years old, this was entering the airwaves in the Netherlands in 1969 via the free radio Veronica broadcast outlet. Exceptional harmonies crept into the airwaves and it’s audience. Not aware that this would become defining period music, this was absorbed by a young adult in all it’s greatness. Now at 67 not equalled since.
