Years ago I had the pleasure of listening to Warren Zevon as he performed in downtown St Petersburg, Fl. I stood only a few feet away from his piano as he performed. I was blown away by the way he captured all of us crowded around him listening. No backup band , just Warren , always a cigarette and always a drink in his hand but we hung on to every note. Such a heartfelt song by the late, great and much under estimated and under appreciated Warren Zevon. "Keep me in your heart" is the last track on Warren's last album "The Wind" and it was also the last song he recorded. He knew he was dying when he recorded this song and died two weeks after it's release. You can't get more poignant than that. RIP Warren Zevon 1947-2003.

So many comments reference "his hair was perfect," and even that spontaneous "nip" right afterwards. My favorite part, too. Zevon's vocal performance on this song is perfect. It goes to show that you don't need to be gifted with a stunning vocal range and pitch to be a great performer. He's having so much fun performing a song he wrote for fun, and being his charismatic self, and that's the real magic. He's competely at one with what he's doing.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's lame ass response to Steve Miller, spoken like true posers... The Hall of Fame didn’t respond directly to Miller’s numerous criticisms but did issue a statement that said: “Rock ’n’ roll can ignite many opinions. It’s what makes it so great. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was honoured to induct Steve Miller.” On his tour bus recently, Miller was in an affable mood and said he hopes some positives will come out of all the commotion he stirred up. “I want to put pressure on them to do the right thing and make it a great institution,” the guitarist said. The people who run the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation “are living in a bubble in New York City. Step outside of it, and the Rock Hall of Fame is a beacon for music education,” Miller said. “There are people working there who do care about it, and realize it should be the centre of the universe when it comes to fighting for musicians’ rights, music education, musicians’ health care. “But right now, it’s a private little group in New York calling all the shots, guys who consider themselves the elite, experts of what is or is not important. They’re more worried about making a TV show [of the induction ceremony] than they are of taking care of the people they induct.”
