Picked up my 13 year old daughter from school today and told her of this amazing man . How he started his working life in a job , and doing music on the side at night : he became more popular and music become his full time job . Told her how he said that you should follow your dreams and if you fail , pick yourself up for these moments make you strong . Keep trying always . I came home and pulled out a record and played this beautiful mans music . He was so passionate that he gave everything till he could give no more. Eternally missed . Thank you Mr Alwin Lopez Jarreau for sharing your gift of music . 🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶

The the band is the real heart of any song, but they never get the acknowledgement and accolades that they deserve. The 70’s singer/songwriters era, are you kidding me! There should have long been Grammy awards for the bands, especially with some of the outstanding solos on piano, horns and electric and acoustic guitars! I wish we could just hit rewind to those years....

"It's like a diamond ring it's a precious thing." That was Al Jarreau. A world treasure, this man. We lost one of the absolute greatest voices of all time. I adored his music. It got me through so much over the years. Thank you God for giving us Al Jarreau. My prayers to his family, friends & fans. "From the beginning to end, always there my old friend. True until the end of time. " Rest in peace, Mr. Jarreau.

When artists like Al Jarreau pass on, those of us who enjoyed the music, who lived the music, who felt the music, whose souls were touched by the music - we all lose a part of ourselves. Many people will say "people die every day and you didn't know him, so...." But you either feel it or you don't. Hard to explain.

They're all gone. Al Jarreau, Marvin Gaye, etc. There is no one speaking those words anymore. Plus, everyone can listen to whatever they want. If you want to hear hate and spite, you can get it piped directly to you 24/7. That is the real difference. If you wanted fear and anger and hatred back in then, you had to work to get it, AND it was harder to find others of like mind. Now, it comes to you with the click of a mouse, along with a whole community of fellow misanthropes. Plus, let's face it: When this song came out, our country looked alot different. Now, 40 years later, increasing diversity is leading to more whites feeling that "their country" is being "taken away from them"

M, mm, mm ..oooh weeeeee!,, the part where he pretended to be picking the fruit off the vine, puts it in his mouth, that savory look he gave while still holding the note!! 😩 🥰 Now guys, I’m 26 yrs old when I hear this song Im just imagining me and someone I’m deeply in love with dancing this song slowly on a balcony. Now who will this man be? He better has an old soul, or else we’re not gonna connected 💯..I’m not your typical 26 yr old I’m a millennial with an old soul .. AJ thank you for this song 💕

It's like a diamond ring It's a precious thing And we never want to lose it It's like a favorite song that we love to sing Ev'ry time we hear the music And we're in this love together We got the kind that lasts forever We're in this love together And like berries on the vine It gets sweeter all the time It's like a rainy night and candlelight And ooh, it's so romantic We got the whole thing working out so right And it's just the way we planned it, do do We're in this love together We got the kind that lasts forever Don't you know, that, We're in this love together And like berries on the vine It gets sweeter all the time You know we're in this love together We got the kind that lasts forever We're in this love together We got a kind that will last forever and evermore Don't you know we're in this love together We got the kind that lasts forever Singing out, we're in this love together We're gonna find that the love has opened up the door, hey yeah yeh Don't you know that, We're in this love together We've got the kind that brings to mind a favorite song Let me say that, We're in this love together We got the kind that blazes all night long, yeh yeh yeh yeh We're in this love together.. 💕💕💕💕

I was so SHOCKED to see the news today... 😭 This legendary man has passed on to another much more beautiful life and is singing with the angels of heaven. He is one of the "groundbreakers" of the jazz world we see today. His legacy shall continue on... For he is one of a kind, the only AL JARREAU (1940-2017). #RIP

I was ALWAYS a big fan of Al Jarreau when I was a kid. His music touched the hearts of so many people. This song brings back memories of growing up in the 80s and trying to enjoy life. RIP Al Jarreau. You'll NEVER be forgotten.

I love this song. Also i enjoy watching this video, i mean. Al has so many facial expressions and wide smiles. He seems emotional at times when he hits a high note. I can't explain. But i smile to, watching him sing. For he is singing from his heart. His outpouring of expressions is clearly visible along with his many smiles, pleasant demeanor. For example 1:00 to 1:05
