I caught something that looks like this in the river, but google keeps telling me it’s a darter of some sorts. I was catching minnows to feed my monsters, and one of them was clearly different than the rest of the shiners. So I kept it, unsure if it was going to survive after the transportation and everything. Mine differs in appearance slightly, but behaves exactly the same. I wonder if it’s possible I accidentally caught one of these rather than a darter.

There are a lot of carter's around, and they are really just north American gobies essentially. So it's possible, but darters are very likely
