One question can we use two dependent clauses or subordinating conjunctions in a reported speech ? Like - He said, "I know that he went yesterday" to a reported speech like - He said that he knew that he had gone the previous day. Here - we have two dependent clauses in this reported speech "that he knew" and "that he had gone yesterday". Now, I'm getting very perplexed.
