thank again for the video. I finally had time to go and shoot the constallation, in a rather dark place. Got 3.5 hours with an 85mm at F2, and here is where the weird things start. Image has TONS of detail, and is bright out of the box. It's not dark like the output you get from DSS Its B&W :( I have no idea where the color is done, even after the siril streching. I bet I doing something stupid, but if you know that that stupid thing is, I'd appreciate any tip!

As I said, more than one comment. As I posted in your capture video, I'll be trying a capture in northern Wisconsin in late June. You inspired me to try a 2 lens/camera capture. I have the Rokinon 135 paired with my Canon 5D MK IV (unmoded). I'm building a plate to mount this next to my astro moded Rebel T7i, paired with a Sigma 50mm art lens (equivalent 80mm). I think I'm within the weight restrictions of my SW SA GTI. So wish me luck. I hate Adobe's subscription thing. Thus posting my other comment about stretching in Siril only. But probably can't get the results you did w/o PS? Thanks more than words for this!

Photoshop's masking features are crucial to some edits. You could get away with using GIMP, but I stick to Photoshop because of the massive amount of plugins and online tutorials that are out there for it. The $10 a month plan doesn't bother me to much. Hell most of my friends spend more than that a day on overpriced coffee! 🤣

So the nebula is mainly to the left, and above Anteris? I want to know how to frame it with the asiair, since Rho isn't in it's catalog. Do you know What it's Designation might be?
@deltaastrophotography
@deltaastrophotography Жыл бұрын
If you are using the ASIAIR, center Antares, take a test shot and then plate solve it. Then go to the planetarium feature in the ASIAIR app, and it should show your framing. Rotate your camera to your desired framing, take another test shot, plate solve, ect. Just keep repeating that process until you have the framing you want.

I will have more, comments/questions as I follow this. Anyway, if I just want to use Siril, at the point before you create the TIF for PS, how do I continue to stretch in Siril?
@deltaastrophotography
@deltaastrophotography Жыл бұрын
Go to Image Processing at the top and choose Histogram Transformation. Click the button on the far right that looks like a gear with a wavy line through it. That should apply your auto stretch. Or you could turn the auto stretch off, open Histogram Transformation and manually stretch. All up to you!

I don't know if this is allowed , or kosher. I enjoyed this video very much. So, not to take views away from @DeltaAstrophotography, but @NebulaPhotos has done a lot of soup-to-nuts tutorials on Siril. Informative on their own, not as much humor as with @DeltaAstrophotography. That being said, Siril has updated recently and includes some significant updates for stretching and StarNet++ integration. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHenqHqkityCnpqdl If you are MacOS user, he includes the whole process using Mac.. Thank you for the video!

Brilliant and super easy to use as usual. I have started to use Siril for some early stages after DSS has stacked my light and calibration frames, but I still prefer PS for the later stages of processing. I love your use of ‘colour range’ which I use a lot 👍

Great work and wonderful final image!! When I use StarXterminator I notice that the background of the starless image has a slight checkered or grid-like pattern. It's also minimally visible in your starless image around 14:00. Do you know what causes this? I've searched forums etc and haven't found anything on it. I find that the more an image is stretched the more it stands out. It's quite easy to get rid of during post processing but I was wondering if you had any ideas.
@DantinDouglas
@DantinDouglas Жыл бұрын
this may caused by 2 reasons:1. when you do stacking, you enabled len correctiom, 2. your image was too under exposed.
@indysbike3014

Do a photometric color calibration so you don’t need to draw a box. Also next to the autostretch button you can unlink the channels so the green cast goes away and now you can see the nebula.
