Because he did not take care of them.... she did it ALL. Alone. He was not a part of their lives, unapologetically, mind you..... It doesn’t matter how nice her purses or cars or any of the things she owns are, she took care of those kids by herself and he did not contribute in any MEANINGFUL way so he could’ve made up by paying child support.

I mean, unless you have 50 50 custody, someone is going to have the kids more( I think that’s how it works). Whoever has the kids more should get support. It doesn’t matter if you have a room for you kids and provide them with food when they are in your presence. Unless the time is equally split in half, he would need to pay child support.
