Hi neighbour,😊 I’m on Northern Vancouver Island B.C. love, love your videos…I’ve never made stuffies before until I found your tutorials..hard time with small hooks to get your fingers so have used a little bigger hooks.. not to great with dark colors, but ok with lighter.. I’ve made a few of these now and did a 420 bear.. thought I’d use this pattern to do the 420 used a 3mm hook for the leaf, then iron it so flat and turned out pretty good.. you’re a wonderful teacher!! Looking forward in trying your other videos.. love and hugs from here ❤️💐

Awww 🥰 thanks! I’m glad you are enjoying crocheting with me. I actually did the 420 bear with this pattern first. And embroidered the leaf. But thought it was too much the same so I didn’t video it. I might save it for next year. Good thinking and a great tip for others to try ❤️😊❤️

Beautiful pattern. I’ve tried something out. When you do the three increases on the head for the cheeks I do three half double crochet increases instead. This makes those three stitches more relaxed so it’s easier to puff them out. I’m a really tight crocheter so it’s easier to see where the increases are. If it doesn’t look right I’ll go back to your method as the first one I made was really lovely.
@rhondadawnbutler9 ай бұрын
I can see that working perfectly, especially if your tension is tight. I would sooooooo love to use hdc for shaping. (Like for the elephants trunk to curve) but since I try and make my videoes for all skills I feel like I have to stick with the sc for any part that’s stuffed. Please let me know how it turned out for you, and I can suggest it in another video. ❤️😊❤️
@Debbyx49 ай бұрын
@@rhondadawnbutler hi. So I have done three bears now. I definitely like the look of doing the 3 increases in hdc. It gives more definition to the face especially as I crochet quite tight. But can I also add that doing it your way is also fabulous and both bears turned out really lovely. I’m absolutely addicted to making these bears. I also use red heart super saver. I plan to make the elephant next but they are also cute.

Is the knot with the loop a magic ring?
@rhondadawnbutler7 ай бұрын
To be honest I have no idea what you’d call what I do. I stopped crocheting for about 20 yrs, and instead of relearning I just did my own thing, lol. The magic ring is a two stranded loop that you start a chain 1 and single crochet around. No knot. But this does the same job and feels more secure to me. There is also a chain two and start your sc in the second chain from the hook. Which I think technically works out to what I do, I just do it differently. Hope that all makes sense. But you can start any of my knots with a loop on the end parts any way you are used to as long as you have the same amount of sc in that loop/ring. 👍😊
