Look at their system. They're best pitching prospects are 2-pitch pitchers that will ultimately end up in thr bullpen. Guys like Melton, Flores, Madden, Jobe, and Hurter all start but none of them have a quality 3rd pitch. Cam Caminiti is only in HS but already has 3 above average pitches with an athletic profile. He's a starting pitcher from day 1 and considering how thin the Tigers are in Frontline starters, he could be a fast mover and possibly be in the Majors by the time he's 20 or 21 years old. And the Tigers are better at developing pitchers than hitters.

They could also move Bazzana to CF, which we've seen them comfortable doing with Freeman. He has the athleticism to stick out there and it would justify them using a first overall pick on him.

Dodgers need to go with a HS shortstop or HS outfielder. They have enough pitching and always find pitching gems in the later round. 23rd pick is really high to what they normally have. So it would be wise to swing for the fences on a HS position player.

@@BaseballifyThey always find pitchers in the later rounds. Gavin Stone was the second to last pick of the draft. Position players particularly at shortstop and outfield is a need in the dodgers system. They have a young crop of international position players coming but it would be wise to swing for the fences and see if you can add to it. Gunnar, James Wood, Merrill were all taken late to second round out of HS. I like Joendry Vargas/Albertus but right now it’s up in the air who will be the long term SS. Same with outfield. Swing for the fences with HS player see if you can find the next Gunnar. Avoid college bats because last time they went with college bats they took Hoese and Busch over Gunnar Henderson!! Betts is not a SS too.

I hope the Mets can draft someone better than King. Your video is very good analysis of the players. Also, Caglione does not seem like type for Clevsland plus Condon is a better hitter who can play 3B, unlike Caglione who has monster power but is limitec to 1B.

Guardians are notoriously cheap in FA but have never cheaped out in the draft or in arbitration. Plus this is their first #1 overall pick ever so I think they are going to go all out and take the best projected player. I’m personally hoping for Travis Bananzza. Same college as Steven Kwan too so thats an extra plus lol

They’ve literally gone underslot on their last 3 picks. Why do I keep seeing Guardians fans saying that? I don’t see where that misconception is coming from. I’m not saying going underslot is cheaping out, but they definitely haven’t gone full slot in the first round for a bit now. Bazzana would be awesome though. Either way, they’ll make a good move. It’s way too top heavy to really go wrong.

@@rhydegoing underslot and not spending all the draft budget allotted to your team based in draft pick are different things. I do think you’re making a good case that the guardians will consider going underslot and I like that you’re not just copying everyone else with Bazzana and Wetherholdt. But, I think picking a 1B with the 1st pick is not what the guardians do, I can see Bazzana, Wetherholdt, and Condon prioritized before Cags by the Guardians, but we shall see!

I have a hard time seeing Hagen Smith falling past STL or LAA. As much as I hope he falls to the Red Sox his stuff seems way too good to not be top 10. I personally have him going somewhere around 6-8 but it would be Sox luck if he fell to them. Being a Red Sox fan I like the fit of Christian Moore. Right handed power bat who seems to thrive when he’s in big situations although I could see his CWS performance getting him into the top 10. At the end of the day nobody will be right it’s just fun to mock and see potential fits

I think he’ll end up either with CHW, KCR, or STL after sleeping on it. Moore would be great, and it’s possible they save some money with him. I think in the end there’s a good chance he goes T10. If not him, then I could see someone with high upside like Honeycutt or maybe Caminiti if he gets there.

The difference for Caglianone is that he has a high chase rate against college pitching, not major league. He's gonna be amazing if he can cut that down, but its a risky pick

Pipeline mock today seems to think Bazz will go underslot at around $8.5M, which would essentially be around the number CLE has to be hoping for. If that is true, Bazz is the number 1 pick and CLE will have money to spend at 36/48. Would be pretty shocked if it isn't Bazz or JJW

I think there is a path, but most likely he comes off the board by the middle of the top 10. Someone is going to have to fall out of the T10. My guess it’s either him, or possibly Konnor Griffin.

Overall a good mock, but I'll be pretty surprised if Smith slips past Washington. Cam Smith might be the most underrated player in this draft. His defensive value is going to be higher than most of these first rounders.

Braves are absolutely loaded right now with AJSS, Waldrep, Schwellenbach, Ritchie, Murphy, Kuehler and then even younger players like Lara, Vargas, Braun so it would be nice to get some bats but I just don’t know any good hitters to go after at the 24 spot

Go look at expert mock drafts from the last 5 years, see how they turned out, and come back. I like Kurtz, and I think the Cards should take him if he’s there. It’s my opinion.

@@rhyde I completely understand mock drafts are just what would happen in that particular scenario. It’s more of a profile and value fit that i don’t see them taking Kurtz outside of last season in the first round it’s either fast moving college arm or big power prep bat. If we fit their typical profiles that would lend you to burns, smith, and Rainer. They are a heavily value based org and I don’t see them justifying taking a first baseman in the top 10. For more context they haven’t taken a first baseman within the first 10 rounds of the draft since 2019.

I have Travis at #1 since he has the best combination of tools and mechanical refinement. I think Caglionone is going to immediately struggle in the minors for a while. Travis seems like the most complete player in the draft. Good list 👍
