When you really look at this from Violet’s perspective, Violet believed every single excuse that Becky came up with to leave. She believed her friend actually did everything she said she did and had good reasons to leave when she did. Violet trusted that Becky was always being truthful with her. So of course she would have a hard time when she found out that a lot of what Becky told her wasn’t the truth. She was under the impression that her friend, her best friend, was an ordinary human girl just like her. It would be a huge shock to find out your own best friend was a superhero from another planet with special powers. It would also be pretty cool to find out nowadays though. Imo Violet has every right to feel how she felt tbh.
@Khanmanlol
@Khanmanlol 2 жыл бұрын
It does make me wonder what led her to forgiving Becky for the deception, as well as becoming friends again. I'm certain she probably thought about it, long and hard, but maybe she had a talk with her mom about it? Maybe she imagined herself if she were in Becky's/Wordgirl's shoes, and how other people would react (namely, the villains) if they found out about her secret? No doubt, a secret like that being exposed to everyone would have a great impact on Becky, and Violet may have understood that, even if she didn't totally agree with it.

I think some people are missing the point of why Violet was truly upset. It's not about the bad excuses, it's not about her omitting the truth all this time, it's about her lying when confronted. Even after she was caught and didn't know it she lied through her teeth when violet knew the truth, she was so disappointed when she wouldn't come clean. She gave her so many chances, even in just that little scene, to tell her before providing the proof. I think Violet would have forgiven her much sooner if she had just told her before she had to show her the photo.

I like the little details from 9:38, when Becky's forced to come clean to Violet about being WordGirl. The way she looks to Bob for guidance on what to do, and the subtle, understanding nod on his part. In earlier episodes, Bob was adamant on making sure Becky never revealed her secret identity to anyone (even giving her gentle reminders whenever she slipped), but now facing an impossible scenario with a friendship on the line, he finally gives Becky the "OK" to be truthful for once.

it was going down, down, down emotionally, and they couldn't just deus-ex-machina the problem without ruining the conflict of the episode the "May I have a Word" segment was a way to abruptly return the the show's usual "comedy relief" tone and give the younger audience a chance to recover while they set up for the conclusion I think they intended to start closing out the show with 1 more season and resolve various characters, but because Soup2Nuts closed down, this ended up being the series finale. it kinda works, because it ends on an emotional twinge that audiences remember and leaves a bittersweet memory of the show

@@hobomike6935 I think they were definitely setting up for story arcs where Becky's family finds out the truth, Tobey's redemption, and the return of Steven Boxleitner. Becky's family finding out the truth and then actually taking it well would have been a massive character development as we can see that Becky and her family grew a lot more closer throughout the series. Tobey's redemption would have been just something nice as he seems to be the most redeeming villain in the show. Steven's return would have been a great finale all together as him turning into Dr. Two Brains kinda set this series off into motion, and I love full circles tbh.

Chat was wild but ANYWAY Like I said in the chat, I think Rhyme and Reason actually have a lot of potential. I want to see what their friendship over the years is like. Assuming Rhyme is an alien too, I think the thing that makes her childhood different from Becky’s is that Bob was probably the one to train Becky to keep her powers a secret. We’re left to assume that Rhyme didn’t have that, so I think she just used her powers as she wished when she was a child and Reason was the only one that really accepted her for who she was lol. Aw, I’d love to see more of them now!

To borrow a word from the second part of this two part episode, Becky was really forlorn for a good portion of these episodes. Becky almost lost her friendship with Violet due to not telling her best friend that she was Wordgirl, and having Violet find out due to Becky making a mistake. In this two part episode about losing friendship and the strength of friendship, it was really sad to see two sets of friendships almost end at around the same time, especially Becky and Violet's friendship. The look on Becky's face when Violet ended their friendship was heartbreaking. Seeing Becky crying in her Wordgirl outfit without her helmet was even more heartbreaking due to the uncertainty of her friendship with Violet being repaired. Fortunately, the truest of friendships can endure the harshest of trials. It was great that the friendship of Becky and Violet was repaired, as well as the friendship between Rhyme and Reason. A good end for Wordgirl's final aired episode. As much as I would like more Wordgirl episodes, ending it here was a good way for this series to end.

May be a bit fanfic-y, but I always wondered how Miss Power would’ve fared against them, Rhyme specifically. She shares a lot of Rhyme’s powers and WG sort of got thrown around like a rag doll, but maybe because she wasn’t emotionally all there. They also share a lot of her blue-on-white theming and her outfit details: the blue belts, the gloves the boots. I know they have no relation to one another, just thought it was interesting.

@yanrokbowl28

The joke is that the words has to rhyme (in vowel and consonant sound). Assonance (rhyming by vowel sounds only) isn't always utilized, with the exceptions of m/n often being switched. The closest words that can rhyme with "purple" are "herbal", "hurdle", "hurtle", "turtle", "girdle", "myrtle", "rehearsal", and "reversal". Those are just the ones without syllables in-between.

19:38 This scene is quite meaningful when you remember how many times Violet has come to WordGirl's aid plenty of times. Some notable examples are - Befriending Eugene, getting him to release WordGirl. - Loaning her apple-corer/egg-slicer to help WordGirl get herself and Huggy free from Tobey's robot. - Talking to Birthday Girl with kindness to get her to shrink, thus freeing WordGirl and Bob. While Becky's heart was in the right place to want to keep her safe, she might have overlooked that Violet was plenty brave and helpful, even if she never had superpowers to begin with. 21:09 As upset as Violet was at Becky for lying to her about her secret identity, she set it aside because she now knows that her own friend had been risking her life to keep her and everyone in Fair City safe, and can't see WordGirl the same way she did before. Had WordGirl died, Becky would never be seen again, and almost no one would have known she was WordGirl (aside from Bob/Captain Huggy Face, Violet, Violet's cat Priscilla, Scoops, Kid Math, and Becky's Grampa Bampy)

Sadly in the end this show was meant to continue the end was sudden we never saw dr two brains becoming Steven again Becky’s parents finding out she was word girl or saw lexicon again it just had a sudden ending honestly that made me cry because for a long time I did believe they would eventually pick up the show so I waited and forgot about it after a while I still watched earlier episodes all this time one day I came back to this episode and found out the truth in the comments it was over no more episodes of word girl it took me a long time to recover and now I find out that wasn’t enough for them they decided to take it of pbs they had that little respect for it

I went back to watch this episode cause I never watched the full thing and /or I either forgot they made up at the end,but that has always haunted me for years cause I always thought they broke up for good.Childhood mystery solved!(Also peace for my inner child as I’m now 16 it just came up recently that I needed to watch it because for some odd reason I’ve been dreaming of Wordgirl recently even though I don’t watch cartoons much anymore,manly just for nostalgia nowadays.)

So this is the finale episode so this is the finale episode. That’s sad :( I do remember this now since it’s Violet finding out her identity, I don’t understand why they had to end it. I would love a ending if Becky’s parents find out as well and believe her but keep her identity safe

Given how much they were focusing on Dr. Two Brains, I feel like that they were setting up the return of Steven Boxleitner. Literally, look at the amount of episodes focused on him before the finale, one featuring where he and Wordgirl switches bodies. I believe that the show was going to end on perhaps the return of Boxleitner with him finally getting the Mouse brain removed or perhaps gaining proper control.

Even though the whole purpose of Wordgirl was to teach kids about big words, the show itself was very entertaining to say the least. I’m glad that in the end, Violet found out Becky’s identity and still remained friends with her. Hopefully we’ll get a Wordgirl reboot or a Wordgirl movie in the next few years.
