Impressive...most impressive. Not only your kit, but the fact that you can put it on completely by yourself. Still working on my stuff...hope to join next year.

Thank you! Hope your building goes well! How much do you have done on your kit so far?
@SandraOrtmann19762 жыл бұрын
@@tedofalltradesprops It is all done, besides the shells which are stuck in the belt, the painting of the gun and the helmet. The final big part will be the jetpack. All the parts exist, but as our workshop is not heated, I will not sit down there right now and do hours of sanding. Also, with temperatures that low, I will not even attempt rattlecan spraying or using expoxy resin (the helmet and the jetpack need to be fiberglassed, as they are both 3D printed). By the way, I am doing a post-sarlacc Boba Fett (WIP on the Mandarlorian Mercs forum, German section). Hopefully, spring will come soon so that I can continue to work on my kit.

Thanks! I'll be wearing it at Megacon next week. This is version 5 of my build. Been working on this since 2009! I've learned more about sewing, 3D printing, sanding and filling, etc since I started all those years back!

Hey Ted Of All Trades, awesome kit. BTW, what is the music you used in this video?
@tedofalltradesprops3 жыл бұрын
It’s actually the Mandalorian collection from Samuel Kim. Opening song is called Vode An from the Republic Commando game series

I couldn't quite make out how the jetpack attaches, also curious what you used for the hoses from the gauntlets, looks like it uses a parachute clip on the flak? How did you connect it to the gauntlet? Working on upgrading my kit
@tedofalltradesprops2 жыл бұрын
Jet pack attaches to parachute clips attached to the back plate. Hoses I bought from Lowes. Clear pvc tubing with matching diameter connectors that I epoxied to my gauntlets. I’ve upgraded this and have fully working electronics powering from the a pack and cables to my gauntlets. So when I use the toggle switches they actually make sounds
@kylekuhn58822 жыл бұрын
@@tedofalltradesprops so the jetpack has the lights/sounds but is controlled by the gauntlets? I was considering doing this but wasn't sure how easy it would be and if it would make kitting up a pain.
@tedofalltradesprops2 жыл бұрын
@@kylekuhn5882 It can be a little bit of a pain but it's worth it. I made it so that I have connections easy to reach by a handler so they can wire me up
@kylekuhn58822 жыл бұрын
@@tedofalltradesprops and suggestions on where to make the connections? I was thinking of having a connector at the gauntlet and at the jetpack so I could store and kit up easier
@tedofalltradesprops2 жыл бұрын
@@kylekuhn5882 I actually have my connection in the middle of my wires and at the base of the jetpack. I don't like putting stress on the wires that connect to the gauntlets themselves cause they would be prone to bending and failing. I tried copying the ESB version as best as possible

Bad ass. How’s you make your flak vest?
@tedofalltradesprops3 жыл бұрын
My mother and grandmother made it for me years ago based on a design I came up with. It’s a zipper enclosure in the front covered with a flap that has Velcro on the sides
@scratchcrafter3 жыл бұрын
@@tedofalltradesprops looks easy to make like from a tshirt material
@tedofalltradesprops3 жыл бұрын
Actually my sleeves are an old tshirt as covers my coax cabling. But I don’t recommend using a tshirt for a flak vest. You need a stronger material. I would recommend going to a fabric store and requesting “duck cloth” material. It’s more rigid. Also I would double layer it when sewing so that when you attach your plates with rivets snaps or Chicago screws it still remains in shape.
@scratchcrafter3 жыл бұрын
@@tedofalltradesprops ya I read that you can’t use t-shirt material. Do you know if there’s a template available?
@tedofalltradesprops3 жыл бұрын
You can find all the resources you need I. The Mandalorianmercs.org website. I’ve used a lot of the Wizards of Flight templates for all of my pouches for example. But the vest was unique to me. I also recommend looking up templates on the dentedhelmet forum as well
