Rhys Davies was a successful I.T. engineer before a head injury changed his life dramatically. He's not in I.T. now and he's not Rhys. He's Rhysasaurous Rex, an artist living where he can.

That dog truly loves him. What a gift. Beautiful to see the relationship between him and his dog. He has full time care right there.

His art is pretty good ..he should really think about selling it so he could atleast live a bit more comfortable or maybe use the money to help the homeless people he knows.Im happy he has a beautiful dog to be his best friend atleast looks like he’s well fed, healthy and loyal 🥰best of luck in life for you !

Interesting, because I use a wheelchair so my difference is obvious, and sometimes I wish I could hide it.

My father is paralyzed and in a wheelchair and he can't understand my issues from my brain injury. I think what he is saying is that others can't understand it because we look normal but then are not. With being in a wheelchair people understand in a small way (of course they still don't understand your condition fully but have an idea). My dad says sometimes people try to help when he wants to just do things himself so sometimes also wants people to not notice.

I have a visible disability and a hidden disability. There are pros and cons with both.

The medical community is just starting to recognize "uni-polar" or unipolar which is what he was talking about, and as usual he will probably have to go to one hundred different doctors before he finds a good one that will work with him and understands better. He is absolutely correct about society today though, and should also absolutely charge money for his art!!!!

What a fascinating story! I love listening to this guys new worldview! In fact he takes everything in with childlike innocence and with a good heart. And although he has many challenges, he seems very much to be in the present moment. And is authentic, doesn’t care what other people think, feels free...... Then his friend says he needs to become “normal” again. But what is normal”? working your butt of to pay for a house you’re never in, coz you’re at work? And then work even more to pay for the car to get to work, buy the suit to wear at work, come home exhausted, sleep and leave the house you’re never in....? Think about it. I call that slavery....unless you’re passionate about the work you do (not the amount of money you earn). I wonder if this guy lives what they call a “walk-in”?

I feel that i am flawed now with this skull fracture since a car hit me in December :( i try to strive but it is agonising to see that you are not same anymore. Greetings from Turkey. I wish everyone to live a brain which is intact. Be grateful that you can walk, hear, see and think :(

Not just people with TBI though when you have to see if they are telling a good amount of the truth or what. It is not easy to be friends with people who have had Trumatic brain injury. Do you want to be there and you want to be friends but there are challenges. Luckily his friend was honest with him.

You sound like a jerk tbh bro. Your words are disrespectful af. I have a tbi and anybody I knew before that talks like that and says I’m not the same I tell to screw off. They’ll talk like that even though I’ve done way more in my life after recovery than they’ve done in the last 10 years. My tbi caused me to accelerate my life and achieve more becuase of my outlook now.

I Met Rhys at the park just last night. We spoke about his art among many other things so I googled him when I went home which brought me here. Real standup dude. Him, his friend, and of course dog are very uplifting and positive people. Hope to cross paths again!

He could go to a job. I had a tbi and was supposed to be dead a year ago. I started a new business 4 months after recovery that was more physical instead of mental. I’ve completely changed my life in less than a year.

I have several labels including undiagnosed concussion. But I loved living in my Tahoe more than a house in the mountains. I would love to live in a cabin and have my own garden. 18:50 Great singer and guitarist Kinda 'Dave Mathews' like

I got a bit sad when he used the r-word. He himself is mentally disabled, so he really shouldn’t use a slur for people with mental disabilities. Especially not in a show about special needs. Otherwise he seems cool.

It might be worth remembering that it was the medical term for a long time... Probably through his young life. Depending on how language and memory are affected, he may simply use it as the "correct" term he knows and not realize it's become unfriendly.

My humble apologies for offending you dear. This was shot in 2015. I have taken to not defend my choices to discuss mental health issues, labels, opinions. I shot this at a time before #me2 and for me it was to lance the boil. To effect a change. To liberate a kindness and an #ability. To refrain from using the words of our normal enemies at time would be to loose. Attention is required to the ability of disabled people to rise from the shacked thoughts, terms, slurs, derogatory and obtuse. It makes me shed happy tears to read my offence and offer my sincere apologies. Why ; I did what I tried to do. #IcantAcceptNotTrying and I deliberately used the R word. Dear friends of mine call me #RexTard at first like the use of the word negro or nigger as a proud #Maori from #TeAtiAwa Iwi I shook in anger whenever people used these words so causing racial hate and derogation of cultures and ethnicity. For me to deliberately use these terms at that time was like my use of the labels listed. Unipolar was a term I coined in 2014 /2015 when we started this project. So I'm personally sorry I offended you dear and please take power in your own ability to over come, to demand and get change. Your comments humble me and I'm so blessed for all the #donations #love and uniting abled and disabled #unity for me would be my one true wish from this project. Thank you to #TV3 and #AttitudeTV whom filmed multiple series of my little idea, and in so doing passed the torch to others who like me are not enslaved by semantics or labels. I however wholeheartly agree with you dear and perhaps in my lifetime we could all just be #people. I'm an #ablist #human my prounouns are #human #kindness eternal #Peace #love #unity #respect #RhysasaurousRex #wolfofhighstreet #WOLFofTheAucklandCityMission #🤵🏼 #artist 👨🏼‍🎨🐻 #art #master And #PrinceSalvadorDaliBear #TheBearOfHighStreet #worldsfirstoffleadguidedog ❤️🐺🐻

What an incredible guy he is! He is so incredibly TALENTED as an artist! When I saw all of his work I was sure he had an exhibition and his works sold for a lot of money so I was surprised that he does them for free! I can understand his sentiment about doing that, but he does need to live so it would only be right for people to give him a large donations to take one of his works!
