This game definitely feels a lot stricter with its pass scores and difficulty curves, and not really in a "modern games are easier!" Way but in a "It doesnt seem fair and sometimes feels like you're required to memorise sneaky parts as opposed to actually nailing the rhythm" way at times. Saying that though its incredibly charming and you can see the love in it that came through in the later games too

I think that "orchestral hit" sound is just from some sound sample CD that a lot of games used sounds from at this time, or maybe something similar to that

I was able to beat the second game very easily, but for this one I could never get past Remix 2. Fuck'em Moai heads

This IS the second game though. The first game was released only in Japan on the Gameboy Advance in 2006

I'm confused. Is this a reupload from months ago, did Barry play this exact game before, or do these games just always reuse the same tutorial/early songs/mechanics because I swear I saw these before despite not watching this one live or playing the series myself. (That or deja vu is out to get me.)

They reuse a lot of songs/minigames between entries in the series. So no, I haven't played this one before, but because I streamed Megamix/Fever already, a bunch of what's in the DS game will look familiar.

those cues in remix 9 were messing Barry up. If Barry somehow plays the original rhythm tengoku, I'm not sure if he's ready to deal that games "quirks" and lack of leniency
