@Zabeer Farid Yeah his answer is probably wrong but we would have to test both versions and then see wich one has a tighter tolerance for perfect hits. That said, Rythm heaven is an asian Rythm game so the timings are quite unforgiving even if they feel much more easier to perfect than the previous versions games on the franchise. But answering what OP asked directly and with no bias towards any languaje, the Japanese version uses a segment of a song (much like anime uses about 90 seconds of a song for each its opening and endings), this song is more often than not made while considering how to implement certain parts to fit the mini-game better or give it more variations (much like how in this one you can hear when a combo is supposed to fit in). While on the other hand, the english version is mostly made in order to localize the game for a western audience and for that it's only important to make the song last as long as the game requires and not much more.

The song is so different in Japanese because those who learn to speak in Japanese interpret speech with a different part of the brain than people who learn English first, so it was changed for the benefit of English players in the English version. And beyond that, as a rhythm game, if the lyrics don’t line up really well, it’s hard to make the game not a pain to play for people who play the rhythm game as intended.
@JPJ280 Жыл бұрын
I find the claim that your first language influences which part of the brain you process language in dubious, to say the least. Do you have a source on that?
@raphtheartist9608 Жыл бұрын
@@JPJ280 It is completely false, there is one part of the brain that is responsible for language comprehension and processing which is called Wernicke’s area. There is, however, a hypothesis that suggests that language has an effect on perception. It is called linguistic relativity or the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. This is all easily searchable and verifiable online if this is something that interests you, it’s an interesting topic.
@JPJ2809 ай бұрын
@@raphtheartist9608 That's not really true either. We know that while Broca's area and Wernicke's area have a lot of responsibility for linguistic processing, they're far from the only regions involved in it. See www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3498052/. Also, while I haven't read any actual academic literature on the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis, my understanding is that there's no real evidence to support it.
