This explanation is easy for foreigners to understand rhythm in English. Thank you Rupert. It’s really well done!

How can you do this whenever you speak
@speakenglishwithrupert18 күн бұрын
I think the good news from watching Trump is that, in spite of this being a native-speaker instinct, people don't always do this. Also, the number of non-native speakers of English has increased to such a level that it is becoming less and less noticeable if someone speaks English with their own accent. The advice in this video, though, is useful for anyone who wishes to train themselves to speak as natives do. The answer is lots of practice :)

Hi Rupert, Scientists believe they may have solved the mystery of how 31 pyramids, including the world-famous Giza complex, were built in Egypt more than 4000 years ago. Can I add the relative pronoun 'Which' before "were built"? ...........of how 31 pyramids, including the world famous Giza complex, which were built.... Is it correct too?
@speakenglishwithrupert18 күн бұрын
Your original sentence without "which" is correct because the adverb clause begins with "how", and the information between the commas is an appositive phrase (i.e. extra information about a word contained by two commas). There is no need for a relative pronoun, because the extra clause began at "how".

Spelling form pronunciation... Spelling of privilege is privilege, and not priviledge. Always sharp on the edge - whatever the rhythm, grammar plus the triplet of spelling, form and pronunciation are absolutely essential to teaching or learning a language. No edge on privilege , no toe on potato.

Thanks for spotting this, Joseph - I tried blurring out the "d" but it messed up the video too much. You are absolutely right, though - privilege should be spelled without a "d". Please accept my apologies for the error!
