That last vegetable is smart. Because it's far too fast to do with pressing 1 button, the option to use either the D pad or the A button actually becomes useful here because now you have to use both buttons similar to Ninja Bodyguard.

Beta-12a and earlier of Rhythm Heaven Silver call it “Vegeta-Pull.” It was changed to “Rhythm Tweezers” in Beta-13a.
