Wang Zilu was my favorite in the competition. She brought back something that has disappeared in Rhythmic Gymnastics for a long time : Grace. And yes, it's very pleasant to have routines where movements have really something to do with the music. She put her soul in her routines.

As a Brazilian, I am super proud of Bárbara Domingos. 🇧🇷 She made history for Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics by getting to the finals. I wish she had performed cleaner routines as she did in the qualifying rounds, especially in that hoop routine in which she usually excels. But anyway, it must be really nerve wrenching to be the first to compete during finals.

I love how her hoop Is representing her childhood and the first moments when she trains rhythmic gymnastics and the end of the hoop music is the beginning of the ball. Her ball is representing the feeling when she started to like the sport and winning medals and again the end of the ball is the beginning of the clubs. Clubs represent the hard moments of her life when she wanted to give up, same story with the end of the clubs and the ribbon's start. And the ribbon is showing what she has become now. I would be interested if you share what you don't like about her music and what disturbs you! 😊

A special mention to Ekaterina's Vedeneeva hoop, Sofia Raffaeli's ball, Zilu Wang's clubs and Darja Varfolomeev's ribbon. In my opinion the podium was fair, Varfolomeev won for her difficulties, precise execution and mental focus on the floor. The only thing I don't agree, is the artistry score, too high for her. Sofia has to work on that to become an olympic champion, but she is on the top already. Hope to see Stiliana, Wang Zilu, Takhmina Ikromova and Taisiia Onofriichuk compete again in LA 2028.

I prefer the ribbon routine from Wang Zilu of China. Just like a river flow. Yes, there were several mistakes, especially the drop near the end. It's not her best routine here. But it's still the most beautiful one in my heart. Her ribbion routine in the preliminary competition is better in techniques but the final one is more touching and so emotional.

Varfolomeev has easy routines but excellent execution. Her sequences and turns are clean, so she gets full marks. Raffaeli makes a lot of mistakes because of her difficult sequences, and when she makes mistakes or takes steps, she loses points. Due to a mistake, her difficulty is not validated. So it's normal that Varfolomeev is ahead; she has a smart strategy.

Kabaeva didn't and still she won. Though she was nowhere near expressive as Raffaeli. And Kudryatseva lost for one club drop. You can't really understand that ranking system at all times...

@@saraoverkamping8143 Alina Kabaeva wasn't expressive, but her strength lay in her exceptional technique, extraordinary flexibility, and innovations in difficulty. However, I think that being Russian gave her more influence than others, because at the time, expressiveness was required, and Alina wasn't expressive, yet she still received high scores.

But what I never understood is that Linoy made almost the same mistake as Yana with her ribbon. Yana lost a lot of points, but Linoy barely lost any and still became Olympic champion. It was strange.

@@lagrrrinta7636 I didn't compared Kudryatseva to Mamun, but Kudryatseva to Kabaeva. When Mamun is compared to Tchachina, it is actually much more logic for Mamun to win in Rio than Tchachina losing in Athen. And Varfolomeev let her hoop get out the rink in qualification like Linoy Ashram and still came in second place. But Ashram had a far better all around presentation than Varfolomeev.
