Love these. Only thing I would like to see is some sort of point system for each leg of the race with wildcard spot for the final going to the highest scoring team that didn't make the cut. That way a team like the lightish purple (#756fdc) that did most of the work in leg 7 and finished high in many of them doesn't get RNG'd out.

I wonder how Mikan handles lag and desync. Is it run in real time, and lag is also accounted for in real time? Or is it run in real time, but lag is accounted for in editing? Or is it another rendering pipeline that doesn't have to run in real time? Or did lag not happen, and Mikan's computer ran all these in real time without desync?

Well he is using Unity to create this. I can see 2 paths of how to do this: Either screenrecord the game (for example with OBS). In this case, if there is lag, editing later to remove it will be very difficult. Alternativly he could use a lower speed during recording (and speed it up in the video editor.) This would give the PC more time, and thus reduce/remove lag. Or he configures Unity for a fixed Timestep each frame, automatically takes a Screenshot each frame, and then imports those into his Video editor as an Image sequence. This method is a lot slower processing wise, but will never result in lag.

I've no idea what causes this or what's going on technically speaking but wouldn't just shifting the sound by that amount in the editing work?

You can record within Unity, it locks the frame rate. This video probably took several hours to render but it always come out at at 60 frames a sec. This is what I do for my videos.
