He did receive an OBE thankfully! He was and always will be one of the most inspiring people I've ever come across. I will never forget the first time I heard this song, and exactly where I was... I was absolutely transfixed! I had never heard anything like it in my life! I couldn't wait to get my hands on the album and I did manage to see him live in London twice. Legend, who deserved the OBE and who will be dancing for joy in heaven now - not for the awards, but for the love he brought in recognising that people are people, and racial bullshit has no place anywhere! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZTZg5Wcaq6ahMk

This is one of the men who held the divided South Africa together. He died too soon, South Africa hasn't yet reached that goal we all prayed for. Nelson Mandela, Johny Clegg, Leon Chuster and PJ Powers are those iconic people in SA who had a way to resolve our differences without any conflict. May his soul rest in peace, I used to listen to this song as a kid, loving it without even knowing the singer.

This was the first song I can remember listening that opened another world to me. I remember those brutal years. What he did was not fashionable, but mighty! It was incredible, soul-stirring, rebellious, important, beautiful, warrior-music. He made a statement, made us proud, lifted our spirits, gave us the determination to plough through bitter years, bitter tears, and made us dance. I love Johnny Clegg, and I am grateful for his contribution to our lives. A mighty one has passed, and I am shocked at the news.
