RIAT 2018 FRENCH AIR FORCE MIRAGE 2000D 'COUTEAU DELTA'

The Couteau Delta tactical display, one of the French Air Force's numerous demonstration teams, flies two examples of the Dassault Mirage 2000D strike aircraft. First flown in 1978, the Mirage 2000 has been in service with the Armée de l'Air since the early 1980s, in fighter and conventional strike versions as well as the nuclear-capable 2000N, which forms part of the backbone of France's Forces Aériennes Stratégiques (Strategic Air Forces), and the 2000D, which performs conventional attack missions. This version serves solely with France; other customers for the Mirage 2000 are Egypt, Greece, India, Peru, Qatar, the Republic of China and the UAE.

been going to riat for the last 10 years,seen some stunning displays,but i have to say nothing could ever beat the f-22 raptor...until i saw this display.incredible doesn't do it justice.

The french are the best when it comes to fighter displays... i remember when they used to come to malta with the mirage 2000c... it was always the best display alongside the marineflieger tornado !

Mirage 2000 is such a magnificient beast! For me it's the most beutiful and perfect design ever made for a jet fighter. MirageIII was great but 2000 have just the more muscular look while still combining elegance and agressive look. French technology at his best! love it!

i tried to get out of the viewing area just before the end but had to stop the car and get out to watch this magnificent display,one of the best i have ever seen.anyone else there will surely agree...

Wow! one of the best displays ever. Typical French flair and skill. You might be able to throw an F-35 around but not with the panache of these guys. Vive la France. And oh yes, they won the soccer World Cup too!

These boys were terrific... the display was fabulous and on day 1 they were noticeably faster than everything else... the fast flyby at the end.. they were pushing much closer to .9 than anyone else... gotta to have been closer to .99... 😁

Easily the best display there. The people sat behind us always had some witty comments about how they had seen every other show, and how it was boring, but they actually got up in amazement for this display.

​@@johnc1975 It's a technical choice. Simplicity, security. When you've to be efficient far away from home, you don't want to be unable to refuel, if the probe don't come out !! It's hapen... If you just practice around the air base, it's not a problem.
