The emulator is forcing the game into 1080p, rather than the DS's native resolution. Some of the sprites and assets are still pixely, but the models used aren't. You can still see the polygons for some models, like the Mario one. Suprisingly, there was a lot of detail put into Mario, despite not being able to see it with the DS resolution.
