Can anyone help me with this problem? I want to make this pattern into a scarf with three colors of my favorite MBL team: the New York Mets. I want the purl "bumps" to be white all throughout to give that characteristic white "stripe". How would I go about doing this: would I "carry" the white yarn all throughout the work? Or is there some easier way? If I did carry the white throughout, would this still be reversible?

Make a ball or bobbin of white for each purl stitch across. Pick up and knit white for purl stitches as you come to them. Or use duplicate stitch after you finish scarf. Any other way it won’t be reversible. Or do double knitting with two colours..
